It's really easy to make a thick yogurt. It tastes great and worked great. My wife loves it. I think that says all about this product.

This is much more useful for straining items over a long period of time than a strainer and bowl. AND you can put it in the fridge while you're doing so!I like dryer cottage cheese, so this helps with that. For yogurt dips, this helps strain out a little more liquid for a thicker dip.For homemade cheese, like if you're making ricotta, crème fraiche, or mozzarella, this is perfect because you literally have to let that stuff strain for hours.

UPDATE: seller has reached out to me and resolved my issueThis produce is pretty pricey for what it is but it does its job nicely so I liked it until the mesh got damaged within three months. Three months seriously? I reached out to seller with my concern and they just ignored my message. They saw it and decided to just ignore it. Bad product and absolutely bad customer service. Please stay away

The Greek yogurt strainer is perfect, it allows you to strain yogurt and have nice thick Greek style, perfect to use to spread on crackers or veggies. I made vegan yogurt and wow I have never had such thick results. I used Belle Bella vegan gluten free yogurt starter with Westsoy plain original soymilk where only soy milk is in the ingredient and made the yogurt in my Instant pot and let it sit for about 15 hours because I like it thicker. After the yogurt cooled in the refrigerator I added the yogurt to this container and wow totally blown away on how much whey come out and how thick it got. I got this to use for my nut based cheeses and just tried the yogurt on a whim, you have to strain nut based cheese in a nut milk bag or cheese cloth over a bowl and this makes it so much easier. I love it, I can also allow the cheese to ferment inside the container and go straight into the fridge. This keeps everything clean and sterilized, no yucky cheese cloth or bags to clean. It produces a thick cream cheese textured cheese. I will be recommending this product to all my vegan cheese making friends and i recommend highly as I love mine. It comes in the most adorable packaging too and is excellent quality.

I was so disappointed when i opened the box, it was obviously used one or someone used it and then returned it. It had no direction inside, no plastic cover, the box was worn out. I've been watching so many unboxing videos for this product so i know what it should look like when i see it. I kept it anyway because i really needed it but i wish i returned it. I even paid higher amount then the current price.

This isn't a yogurt maker--it's a GREEK yogurt maker. One of the reviewers didn't learn enough about yogurt making before ordering this device and left a review that is nonsensical. Making yogurt from milk is done separately first--then this product is used to separate the whey out from yogurt that is already made, resulting in a thicker consistency. You can choose how thick you want your yogurt to be by the amount of time you leave it in the strainer. In my case, I want every drop of whey gone because I'm allergic to that protein but not the protein in the solids. With this product I can make a thick yogurt-cheese (the texture of cream cheese) that I can eat without having a reaction. Yay! This device combines a typical yogurt strainer with a device for pressing cheese/tofu which makes it very unique on the market. I was planning to buy one of each but now I don't have to, which makes me really happy!A lot of thought was put into this design. It's done very well. Compared to how I was straining my homemade yogurt before--in a strainer over a 2-quart measuring jug--this is very compact. Having a plastic lid is also much better than just covering with plastic wrap. If you have lots of room in your fridge that may not be as much of an issue for you as it is for me. This product is expensive, but considering the quality and the features, I find it to be worth the cost.

I love yogurt, but I have never made it before. When I saw this Greek yogurt maker I thought, "This should be easy to do." Well, I was a little mislead - this is not a Greek yogurt maker, it is a yogurt strainer. Fortunately, I have an instant pot with a yogurt setting - I thought, "Ok, I'm good" and I set about gathering the milk and cultures I needed. It is somewhat of a process - boil the milk (in the instant pot), cool the milk (outside of the instant pot), set the yogurt setting (back in the instant pot) for 8 hours - which happened to end at 3 a.m. (no worries, I'm up during the night anyway). End result - cultured, watery yogurt - about the consistency of under gelded jello. No worries, I have a strainer. My instant pot recipe called for a 1/2 gallon of milk, which made about twice as much as would fit into the Bear strainer - not a problem, I'll just get another container. I filled the strainer, put in the press (I didn't use the spring), and put it in the refrigerator for the specified amount of time (10 hours). Well, I was impressed - I had yogurt - at about the consistency I liked - not overly firm, just right for me. I put it in a smaller container and refilled the Bear strainer with the remaining watery yogurt. I just had a small bowl of my homemade yogurt - it was great! Conclusion - I like this strainer. It is sturdy and easy to clean, and it does the job. If you already make yogurt and just need a strainer, this is a great product. If you are just starting out, as I was, Bear has an electric yogurt maker (I found after exploring their products) that has everything you need to start and complete the task. Had I known that in the beginning, I would have opted for their electric Greek yogurt maker.

I’m not a fan of this yogurt strainer. The spring part leaks everywhere, making a (albeit contained) mess. It also doesn’t not hold much yogurt at all for the price. Overall I think it’s overpriced and not effective.
