This is an old-fashioned multiarm desk lamp that will screw into a horizontal table edge quite nicely. I have a 100 watt bulb installed and love it for drawing and reading. It reaches across my table without collapsing, as some other such lamps will do. Happy I bought it! Nice black color and well built.

The light sucks in my kitchen, the light is always at my back, so it is not contusive to see exactly what I'm doing. Seen this lamp and it was exactly what I needed. I attached it to the end of the peninsula and now have perfect lighting for cutting or whatever I have to do. I just love it!

This is the third or fourth lamp like it I have owned. The weak point has always been the plastic socket used at the base by the others. If you move the lamp around during the day on a regular basis, the plastic weakens and the lamp needs to be replaced. This version used a pressed and formed steel socket and base and is aging well. All in all a great value for the money.

I am a painter, and use this lamp over my desk. I use it with a daylight bulb, which keeps the colours true. It moves fairly easily, although I feel it could be a bit tighter in the joints. Nice and easy to turn on, and it packs away if you want to take it to the cottage.

I plan to but more of these lights, they are great. Well built. Not plastic, All metal, and durable, will last a long time, and I figure out how to get it somewhat cheaper, cost half what other places were chargeing for them. Paid only $19.00 for it Great price.

I have bought several of these lamps for use at manicure tables in my salon. The price is great, the design is sleek, and it gets the job done. Unfortunately, I have had to replace a few because the head attaches to the base with a plastic piece that breaks somewhat easily. You have to move the lamp very gently and NOT by moving the head of the lamp itself to avoid snapping the plastic joint. Other than that, I am pleased with this product and will continue to purchase more for my business.

It's difficult to find a well-reviewed swing lamp in this price range, but I love this one.First, the clamp to hold to a surface is robust, all metal, strong, and opens up to 2.5 inches.Next the 'arms' are about 15" each, so you've got a good distance to work with, and they hold position easily. Next, the shade (which is removable) mounts firmly to the socket, and covers a normal E26 bulb so there's no glare side-to-side. The only slight negative is it's not "locked" into the clamp, so when repositioning it, you'll need to be careful about that. But given its other strengths, this is still the lamp I was looking for.Edit: Note this review is for the Globe 56963 Black lamp. Reviews for several different Globe lamps have been merged here -- the ones with plastic clamps are not as good.
