This product gets 2 stars solely because the company selling the product engages in deceitful imaging to sell the product. Had the imaging been truthful it would be a five star review. I ordered the largest size they sold but the jar is no where near the size in the picture and I would not have wasted $40 on so small of a jar. A refund of my money, at least the cost of the jar not the shipping, would be the honorable thing to do.

originally bought it to store kimchi so that it wouldn't spread kimchi scent to the rest of the fridge. It worked great! sealed well, kept the vegetables pickled, handles gas exchange well (as far as I can tell). I'm planning to use it for other pickling projects in the future once the kimchi is finished.other people mentioned that the opening is small, and I agree. Had to slice up my napa cabbage to get it all to fit. However, I could still fit my hand in to the jar for rinsing and cleaning, so I don't have any complaints there. The actual size of the vessel is perfect for my two-person household and it fits easily in the bottom shelf of our fridge.the jar and cover arrived well-packaged and unbroken, so no complaints there.

I bought the 2.5 Liter jar. The smaller part of the water seal broken in three pieces. The larger cap for the water seal is perfect. Is there a replacement I can buy for the smaller glass fixture for the water seal? I’m heartbroken it’s broken as I’ve opened the packaging and found how lovely this glass jar is for fermentation. I would buy this jar again. It is well made and lovely to look at. I hope I can get help.

I got this jar about a week ago.I think I wanted to try Sichuan pickles after stumbling upon Cookingbomb on YouTube. I was hoping for fermented pickles that were easy and useful for a single introvert like me who doesn’t have space for batches of pickles. My first try, I used plain mason jars with fermentation lids, and when the Kahm yeast showed up on the first set of vegetables, I got nervous. The pickles were more salty than sour, and I didn’t even get to keep the brine.I finally got the confidence to try again with a traditional style jar, and it’s so easy!!! I’ve taste tested every day, and there’s no Kahm in sight. The shape of the jar keeps the vegetables below the air, even though I keep having to use celery to block the floating garlic and radishes. I don’t have to prepare a surface to keep fermentation weights or cabbage leaves from touching the countertop, I just set the lid down and use clean tongs or chopsticks to fish for whatever I want, and put the lid back down, make sure there’s plenty of water to seal, and I’m done!! The jar is perfectly designed.I did notice a chip missing from the lip of the jar, and I contacted the company to see if there are any concerns about bacteria or anything, and they assured me that there’s no concern, but offered to ship a new jar just in case. I feel a little guilty accepting the new jar, but I’m clumsy and worried that the chip will make the jar more prone to break if I hit it too much with tongs, or drop the lid too quickly, and so I accepted it, and they sent it immediately. It’s in perfect condition! I don’t think I will need two jars soon, but I appreciate the safety net!I’m only a week in, and I don’t have experience replacing veggies yet, but the brine already smells sour and I’m excited to see how long I can keep the brine!Beautiful jar and great customer service!

The jar is OK. A regular glass jar with a wet-rim lid as pictured. It has about the size of a gallon. Mouth opening is not super wide, but OK. A big minus is the heavy styrofoam packing it comes in. Styrofam just is not up-to-date anymore. It cannot be recycled and is a major problem. There would be so many other options out there. If the manufacturers would switch to them, this product would be gold.
