This sourdough start kit is a good starter kit. The include items are a thin glass container, 2 different top options, a flat spatula, a scoop, and a temperature gauge. The glass is thin and with increased heat (ie leave it on the stove when the oven is on) can overtly cook the sourdough starter. the remaining items are good quality, I highly suggest not using the fabric cover because you'll introduce bacteria and create mold. The container holds A LOT of starter and it is easy to clean.

I recently started my sourdough journey and began with a mason jar. I got this kit because I wanted something with a wide opening at the top. It's very big, maybe a little too big for a smaller starter (mine is usually 50g starter, 100g flour, and 100g water) but does allow some nice space for doubling/tripling without the fear of it running over the sides. It came with two tops (a silicone lid and a cloth cover). I only use the silicon lid because my starter dried out a bit on the top when using the cloth cover. It also comes with a handy thermometer which was so helpful for me when determining the best location in my house to place my starter. The rubberbands are helpful to mark your growth as well. Other than it being may a tad bigger than I wanted, the kit is great!

I recently tried this sourdough starter kit, and it's definitely a step up from just using a regular mason jar. The kit comes with a sturdy glass jar and lid, plus some nice extras. While you *can* use a mason jar, I find the glass jar here to be a real bonus because you can clearly see the height of your starter as it rises and falls, which helps track its progress. The band on the jar is a nice touch too - it’s a simple way to mark when you last fed the starter, making it easier to keep a regular feeding schedule. If you're serious about sourdough, this kit is a great way to get started!

You don't need a kit like this to make sourdough, but it's a great way to level up your game, and make the process a little more fun and easy. The materials all seem high quality and well made, everything fits together well.This would make a great gift, adding some convenience to someone who already makes sourdough bread, and giving a novice the guidance to be successful.

I've been really happy with this sourdough starter jar plus accessories. It is nice to have the venting silicone lid for storage in the refrigerator and the muslin topper for feeding on the countertop. The feeding band slides into place easily but is snug enough that it doesn't fall There are lots of extras that I haven't used, the thermometer, colored rubber bands, and scoop, but I'm sure some would find those things useful. The jar being wide makes it easy to stir in flour and water and easy to remove starter when ready to bake. The silicone spatula is great for scraping the sides clean.

I got some sourdough starter and since it was in a Rubbermaid container I wanted an upgrade. This kit has all the essentials I needed. It is a nice glass jar and comes with a couple of different tops. So far I have only used the silicone one. I like the measurements on the jar which makes it really easy to keep track and also different rubber bands to track progress. The thermometer is a nice addition and I really like the little spatula which is the perfect size for the jar. This has really helped me up my sourdough game.
