I like these much better than other 2 gallon jugs. Large mouth is a must. The inclusion of two water locks and a silicone plug on the lid is awesome.

Massive jar! Got this to make kimchi! Just what I was looking for!I like that it does not take that much space as it is tall but not too wide! The glass feels sturdy! It was easy to clean!

Heavy duty jar that seals perfectly! I love pickling and usually have to do it in batches since I never found a large jar like this. This saved me some time. Its large, it's heavy when filled so be sure you know what 2 gallons is, but it's very functional. There are 2 airlocks included. Very easy to set up and use. Overall, for a large glass jar, you can't go wrong. It came packaged very well.

This is a really nice fermentation vessel, which is great for things like kimchi. I don't get too weird with my fermentation projects. I suppose you could use this for alcohol as well, but the wide mouth really makes it ideal for foods (i.e. solid fermented items). The one-way valve works really nicely to make sure the jar stays at a safe pressure as well.I like it!

This is my first time using one of these jars. I wanted to start by learning to ferment my own sauerkraut. I ordered this one not realizing how big it is for what I needed. I started by purchasing three large heads of cabbage thinking it would take up a lot of space in this jar. This was not the case, the three heads only take up about a third of the jar from the bottom. I cannot say for sure how well this will work because I've only had my cabbage fermenting for about four days now. It won't be ready for two weeks or more. If I run into any issues, I will update my review with my findings.

This is one of the larger fermentation jars I’ve come across. The glass is thick and has graduated scale in both ounces and ml. Two airlocks as well as a silicone plug for the lid are included. I’m very excited to start fermenting my own kombucha and sauerkraut.

I grew up eating many fermented foods. One of my favorite memories, as a teen, is sitting talking story with friends, with a gallon jar of quickly disappearing kimchi between us. I haven't made any in years as it is so quickly eaten when made in smaller jars. We ate the entire gallon I have wanted to make my own sauerkraut, as well, but (again) never had the larger jar that I'd like. When I saw this 2-gallon fermentation jar, I grew excited. The glass is nice and thick, something more difficult to find these days. The plastic top, which is vastly preferred, has a nice thick gasket, and a hole on top to accommodate one of the two vapor locks provided. Yes, there are many other fermentation systems available. Crocks, at this point, are a bit too heavy for me, not to mention expensive. This jar retails for about $30. Five stars.

This 2 gallon fermentation jar is made out of thick glass, capable of withstanding higher internal pressures that can build up over time due to the fermentation process. The plastic lid, btw also quite robust in build, comes with a vent hole that can either be plugged off with a built-in silicone plug or accommodate an airlock to vent out carbon dioxide, a common byproduct of any fermentation process. It comes with not one, but two compatible airlocks which must be filled halfway with just water to function properly. The water keeps the air out while pressurized CO2 bubbles past it, effectively serving as a one-way venting system. It works flawlessly so long as the user fills it to the marked line, or half the capacity as noted. The jar is much longer than it is wide so the user can also fit any of those heating wraps around it with ease to cut down on the fermentation time with ease.In short, it's an excellent container in its own right. With or without the so-called fermentation feature configured onto it. If that weren't enough, it's also high in value due to its competitive pricing at the time of writing. I can't rave more highly about it. 5 out of 5 stars, highly recommended to all homebrewers out there.
