Years ago, I bought a dining room set from one of those big box furniture stores. The table legs and all the chair legs had these super cheap finned threaded inserts made of pot metal. Over time those cheap inserts disintegrated, breaking into lots of small bits. I literally poured a handful of shards out of each hole on disassembly.These threaded inserts are awesome. I bought enough to replace every single insert in my dining room set. They are fully threaded on the outside instead of the cheapo fins. I can't really speak to long term durability yet but they certainly seems really solid. I can tighten the furniture legs without fear of the insert ripping out

I really like the special bolts to put together different pieces following the diagram information…I don’t have to use any glues in proces and the results are very sturdy with possibilities of replacing parts in need without damaging other parts from desired project…is very practical , easy , convenient and really for a fraction of thecost…I’m happy with this type of bolts…thanks so much…my garden long arms chairs is just sturdy and beautiful…I used those bolts…thanks again…

We were looking for a way to secure a stair railing to wood joists in the wall, but make it easily removable without stripping the screw tread or anchor.This was perfect for our use: we screwed it into the wood joists in the wall, and found some corresponding machine screws with nuts and washers to attach the railing hardware. It is working perfectly!We only wish this anchor was a bit longer so that we could screw in a bit more. We installed 5 for a 10-foot railing and very happy with the result.

I've used a lot of threaded inserts over the years. These are top notch. Big and beefy. Easy to install with the hex head drive slot. The only downside is finding a drill bit that actually works with them.I tried a lot of different sizes and the best one I found was a 29/64" bit. But anything in that range should work ok. Probably a 7/16" drill bit would work. A half inch bit makes too big of a hole and a 3/8" bit makes too small of a hole.So...Inserts are good. For the 5/16" inserts I used a 29/64" drill bit and it worked great.

Got this to use one piece for a replacement of a cheap broken one on a sofa leg. Much better than what it replaced. Don’t regret getting the kit so I’ll have plenty for future projects

I orderd the 1/4-20 x 25mm inserts. There were no instructions nor recommendation on hole size, so I did four insert tests with different size holes in scrap MDF I was to be using. I determined the ideal hole size for MDF was about 11/32". In a test sample, the 1/4-20 bolt broke before the insert pulled out. I then installed 36 inserts into MDF with zero problems and every single one had proper internal threads. I did not use the included wrench, however, but used a proper sized bit in a power drill to install the inserts. I also tried "name-brand" inserts supposedly designed for MDF/particle board -- did similar hole size tests and pull out testing -- and they did not have near the holding strength of these inserts. I am not exactly a fan of "Chinese" goods, but there is no denying that these inserts work better than any others I've used. I would definitely use these again!
