I’ve been buying Gilmore products for probably 15 years if not 20. Even though they have a lifetime guarantee, I have never sent them back to Gilmore for replacements. The reason I’ve never sent them back is because I have used them for a couple of seasons and like any mechanical device things will break or wear out. I feel like I have gotten good use out of them, and therefore I’m not gonna worry about sending them back.If you live in a area, they get below freezing during the winter mutts, then disconnect these from your hoses and put them inside. No matter how you think that you’ve gotten all the water out of them there’s always some left.I only use Gilmore Mechanical timers and related products.

Easy enough to get installed and seems to work well. I question the accuracy of the timer, as it takes longer than what the set time marks indicate. But it shuts off fully and doesn't leak. We'll see how durable it is. Would buy again.

Lo guarde por error y se me olvidó reclamarlo , pero no lo pude usar, porque tira agua por arriba y por abajo, y no es falla de instalación, tengo un jardín grande con 5 mangueras y en todas tengo temporizadores, pero este no funcionó

It worked well for two weeks and now the twist timer is jammed and sounds like something came loose. It no longer functions. Seems well made on the outside but the interior mechanism came apart. No way to fix it as it’s sealed. Return window ended a few days ago so I am out of luck. If you buy this keep the box cause you will have to return it after a few uses. Better yet look for another one and try your luck with that.

I have 3 of these, 2 of them for three years and I just bought the 3rd. My first one works great and so I bought the 2nd right after. It did have less water flow than the first but not much less so I didn't really bother to look into it. This one sucked, I was getting about 1/3rd the water from it as my original and was going to send it back. When I took it off I noticed how tight or small the inlet screen was and though maybe that's whats stopping the water flow. So I found a rubber washer with no screen and stuck it on...bingo, high water flow. My next step was to take the original washer with screen and poke some larger holes in it to increase water flow. I used a small awe to place about 15 larger holes in it and this worked fine. The pictures are from my 2nd since I had already modified the new one.

I've had this timer for 2 months now. I liked it when it worked properly. But now it's starting to not turn off...........like the timer isn't moving. I'm now past the return window and I may take it apart to see if there is something obvious.Edit 7/4/2019:I have found that if the ticking sound isn't there, the timer isn't working and thus it won't shut off. So I wiggle the knob a little until the ticking sound is there and then it works as it should. So far I have had it work properly as long as I can hear the ticking sound before walking away. Basically I still like this unit and so its worth at least 3 stars.

I have been using it for 10 days and the timer has been working very well.As far as placing the hose onto the timer, I highly suggest to twist onto the hose first and then to the faucet. The reason for this is the thread on the timer is plastic and if the metal hose is not attached correctly, it can damage the thread on the timer. The timer is easy to use. It shuts off the water at the time it is set. It also has an always on feature for regular water use.Overall, an excellent timer for less than $15 and no electronics inside the timer that may fail if it gets wet.

It says you can program it for one minute or more, but programming it for under 15 minutes is a problem. It's marked in 15 minute increments, but it will actually start to work somewhere between 0 and 15 - you have really very little precise control because of the inaccurate start time. Since i water my straw bales for 5 minutes each, this was useless. it also hung up once and didn't turn off.If you will be watering for a long period of time, it might work for you I also found that since i attached it between a hose and a soaker hose, it was very difficult to read the time markings, which are on the side. not the top, and always seemed to be in the wrong place. I returned it.

Buyers in the UK beware. This timer has US GHT thread outlet which is not the same as our BSP thread so are not compatible with the likes of hozelock, Gardena connections. I did manager to find and order a converter from a jacuzzi company so will come back and update my review once it arrives.

I'm changing my review of this product. After having three of these timers fail, I purchased another timer and that one failed too. I started to realize that it might not have been Gilmore Timer after the third one didn't work but I wanted to test another's manufacturer's timer to be sure. I dug out my water pressure and stuck it on my irrigation line. The pressure was sky high. The water was forcing its way past the valve in the off position.I can't blame Gilmore for a lack of troubleshooting instructions. I bought this product because it has always been simple to use and has been rock solid in how it works. Attach one end to your faucet, the other end to your water hose and turn the time on. It just works, and it works great.I fixed the problem by putting a pressure reducer on this section of pipe. Now my Gilmore Mechanical Water Timer works. I will go back to using these timers. I have six and have three more faucets to put them on.Previous review ...This product's quality has gone seriously downhill... I had ordered six and they worked perfectly. The last two I ordered both had the same problem. Water would flow when turned off and it would stop when turned to a time and ticking. Amazon was great and replaced the 1st one with this problem, but then the replacement had exactly the same problem. Now returning both for a refund and will order one from a different manufacturer.

Easy install, no leaks. You can turn the knob in reverse to have continuous flow without a timer, however it is a bit deceptive as you can still hear the timer ticking for 2-3 minutes for some reason. I've also noticed that you cannot shorten your selected time, so if you wanted to water for 20 minutes but turned the dial past the 20 minute mark, even if you try to correct this manually by turning the dial to a lesser count, it will still water for the farthest spot you turned to. It's been a great too for controlling my flow on fresh sod. I can leave the water pressure as-is and leave this device in the off position without any worries.
