Work with Unifi POE devices, but be sure you read the voltage requirement from the Unifi device before buying.

I could not get it to work behind a D-Link switch (unmanaged, non-Poe). But I was able to get it to work from a port leaving the router directly. So, I can say it works fine in the right situation. I used it for a Poe security camera, and I verified the specifications extensively to ensure a match before purchasing. I hunted for days to find a solution to connect it to the switch before making extensive rearrangements to use it and not return it.

Some POE is 24 volts, some POE is 48 volts. If you find yourself with a 24 volt switch, but need 48 volts for your device, this works well. No issues at all.

I had recently received a wired security camera that requires PoE to supply power and data to the unit to function. There is no required setup of the PoE injector, other than to cable the RJ45 cables properly and to connect the power. This unit worked flawlessly when connected to my backyard pool camera. Things that concern me with these types of devices are excessive heat. I let this unit run for a few hours while actively interacting with the wired camera and this did not produce any concerning temperatures. This completed my wired camera install and I am very happy with the results.

I ordered this POE injector so that I can power a POE security camera, which I have yet to set up. But I did a quick test of the injector to make sure it works as expected. I had a configured POE wireless access point for my shed that I picked up at an electronic flea market which used another POE injector. I just replaced the existing injector with this new one and verified it worked as expected. It's very straight forward to set up in the first place given it has just 3 connections - main power to plug into a wall socket, data-in from your router or switch and power plus data-out to your POE device (access point, camera, etc.) The device seems solid enough and should provide the power I need given the POE cable will be about 30 feet or so. I've been using cat 5 and cat 6 cables for networking. The price point is reasonable. Again, the device works as expected and I have no complaints.

In my mind, it's hard to go wrong with a port injector...but it has been noted to happen. I needed this to power on an Ariuba 274 wireless Access Point as one of the requirements was to have 802.3at as a POE power source. I can say it worked like a charm and powered my device on.I have used an 802.3af device before and have been using it to power a device off a standard desktop switch for about 1-2 months now and it's presented 0 challenges. One thing to consider, I have run into issues where you have a port injector plugged into a managed switch and sometimes, the power injector and switch don't speak the auto-negotiation, so you have to manually set the speed....this wasn't the case for me. PLUS it's gig speed.5 Stars due to all of the above...I will buy again if I have a need. I might even try their line of multi-port injectors, if they have some available.
