I absolutely love the large capacity of this yarn winder, as it can hold up to 10 oz of yarn. Whether I’m using small or large yarn spools, this winder handles it all with ease. I no longer need to switch out yarn frequently, which has greatly improved my efficiency when crocheting. It’s spacious enough to handle long crafting sessions without needing constant refilling – so practical!

The cordless design of this yarn winder is incredibly practical! Not only does it support rechargeable use, but it also allows me to take it anywhere – whether it’s to a friend’s house or the park. I can use it anytime, without worrying about cords or finding an outlet. The wireless feature really frees up my space and improves my overall crafting experience.

This cake winder works well, but not without challenges.Out of the box, assembly is simple. Charging the unit is fast -- mine came with about a half charge which was enough for my first cake, I recharged it in under an hour. The machine itself is super quiet. Setup is easy. It can make LARGE cakes. The first skein i used was 8.75 oz.On to the challenges. The first cake I did was a larger skein of a velvet type yarn (think Bernat Blanket but in a worsted size). The yarn has to be threaded a certain way, through a loop, under the tensioner, through a hole in the arm, through another loop. Obtaining the correct tension is difficult. The instructions just say to turn the tensioner knob, no information on direction, or what tension works best with what yarn weight. Guess and try again! If it hits ANY amount of tension, the unit will stop. If you don't fix it fast enough, you cannot restart the wind, you have to turn the unit off and back on. The pause/resume button only gives you a few seconds of pause before you need to turn the unit off and back on to restart. The friction of the yarn creates static. Of course, it's the middle of winter and my house is drier than the Sahara, so that may be part of it. Once the tension issues are resolved, the machine will go, until it doesn't. Sometimes it stops for no reason. Sometimes the yarn will go awry and wrap below the cake holder base, then you have to stop and carefully unwind what went wrong, pull it backwards through the feeder, make sure the yarn on the cake isn't too loose or messed up, and carefully restart. My second cake was a skein of yarn from HL, polyester worsted weight. I thought the challenges I had with the fuzzy skein would be over and this should cake like a dream. Wrong. Same tensioning issues. Same stop for no reason. Same wild winding and off course.I did end up with two usable center pull cakes. Hopefully as I learn the machine's quirks it'll be easier.

My old electric yarn winder was broken so I ordered this. It's a good one and I will update if it breaks within 6 months.Pros:1. Large. There's a lot of space. It can handle 10 oz of yarn according to the description. I think in the worst case scenario it can handle 10 oz. It can probably handle more.2. The yarn guide has tension control so it's very robust.3. Stepless speed change.4. Pause button in case your yarn got stuck. Without it you need to turn down the speed until it's off.5. Good construction. It feels sturdy.Cons:1. Yarn guide is closed, meaning you can't get the yarn out without reaching an end or cut it. Though the closed part is only at the tension nob. You can also just by-pass it if you plan to make a partial ball (very useful when you buy those pound yarns)2. Top speed is somehow slow (by design) compared with a manual winder.3. ExpensiveOverall I'd recommend it!

Thus Electric yarn winder Is pretty cool and super easy to use, it's rechargeable via USB C which is great and worked well, I just wish that the desk mount was removable

I LOVE this yarn winder! I’ve been crocheting since 2002 and started my crochet business in 2013, so I’ve gone through my fair share of winders. Honestly, I had given up on them because they were more trouble than they were worth. I gave up on winders until I saw this one was electric. I had to try it, and it’s by far the coolest tool I’ve ever had for my work. Some people mention a learning curve, but if you’re used to winding, it’s like hopping on a new bike, spend a minute figuring out the controls, and you’re good to go. I had no knotting issues, and the heavy metal eye it feeds through even helps eliminate those annoying ‘loop knots’ before they tighten. Of course, if the yarn itself is tangled or has a manufacturer’s knot, it won’t magically fix those, but that’s to be expected. For messier skeins, I set it to the lowest speed and guide the yarn to prevent snags, but for new skeins, I can just set it up, walk away, and come back to a perfect little yarn ball. The automatic stop feature is fantastic!! if the yarn gets caught, it pauses instead of making a mess. That alone makes this winder a game-changer. As a professional crocheter, this is easily my favorite yarn winder. It’s efficient, convenient, and takes so much of the hassle out of prepping yarn. I have over 100 skeins of yarn to wind up so I can finally have my yarn storage looking nice and tidy. Highly recommend!

It winds really well and the stop option is really helpful. It’s not super fast but it runs at a good solid speed. Don’t need it faster. The tension clip is really challenging because no matter which way I twisted the dial… it still was too tight and made the ball winder stop. I bypassed it by just hooking through the top loop and then running the yarn tension through my hand. I absolutely love the battery option. It was quick to charge and super portable. I am definitely sold on this winder.
