My Heat pump was keeping the house warm, but had frozen up. HVAC came out and said the board was bad, and wanted $1200 to replace it, so I ordered this one and put it in myself. Very easy install and exact part number match, and I took pictures of the exact old and new plugs on the board. When I powered on the system, my thermostat immediately burned up, so I had no heat at all here in cold Feb in Pennsylvania. I had the HVAC guys come out to put in the old board, and troubleshoot before installing their own new one, but they could not find the short or whatever it was. I spent $800 for them to diagnose the problem on two separate trips with no progress and no heat at all. Bottom line: Before I installed this board, the system was keeping the house warm but had defrost problems, but afterwards, neither the backup heating (3 amp fuse immediately blew) or the heat pump (burned up another thermostat that was installed after mine burnt) would work. With the heat pump being only 9 years old, I made the difficult decision to spend $15k for a new system instead of spending any more money on the old one. Be careful with this board!

I bought this defrost control board to replaced the fried unit in my AC unit. Install was easy, shut off the power supply. Remove the electronics cover. Then photograph the old unit in place from several angles so you have a record of how it fits and the correct connections. Unplug each of the wiring connectors. Unscrew the four screws that hold the board in place. Put the replacement board into position, replace the screws and the wiring connectors, and put the cover back over the electronics bay. Switch the breaker back on, and hey presto! The AC unit roared back to life. Simple, and saved me hundreds of dollars over getting a technician in. Great product.

The PWB seemed like it was more solid than the one installed in the condenser (which is one year old). Set the sip switches and it worked like a charm. Very good product.

My AC was broken for over a year and with the GA heat starting so strong in May/June, I knew I needed to fix it. Originally I was told it would be “impossible” to find the parts for what I needed since the unit I have is older than I am, but luckily one quick google search brought up this motherboard and it is the EXACT one that was already inside it (I didn’t expect that at all and was looking into universal/standard motherboards). Anyways, after replacing a few other parts that fried/shorted out, the 22 year old unit is running strong. This motherboard works exactly as is intended and I couldn’t be happier with the price on it, either. Amazon for the win once again!
