I used this device in the past, which is why I decided to buy one for myself. Only one minor issue, the batteries that it came with did not work.

Used this about 3-4 times for outdoor yard projects that did not require accuracy more than say 6" or so. Then yesterday, tried to use it for a project that I needed to be very accurate with and found that it is off by 1/4". It is very consistent, in that if you try it at different distances, they all come out being off by 1/4". I only tried it inside my shop measuring from 12" and up to about 10', but every measurement was off. So beware if you are wanting a device that is precise as this one is not, at least the one I got anyway.

Got this for my dad for Christmas and he loves it. The moment he opened it he was going around the house measuring with it! Lol.Arrived on time and in great shape. Definitely a neat gadget for the man/men in your life (or yourself even)!

I just purchased this product on June 5, 2019, from Amazon. I didn't even get to start messing with this product until this past week. The product is not accurate when measuring. I spent about three hours playing with this product and reading the manual several times to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Sometimes it will be dead on and verified with a tape measure but then the next measurements will be off. The same for calculating the square footage. I had a 2' x 3' section I was measuring and the square footage should be 6 and the laser distance measurer was reading 8. Then I would do it again and would get 9. I did this multiple times then would shut it off and turn back on. Sometimes it would read accurately but then would go back to being off again.I contacted General Tools support about this and now they want me to pay for shipping to have the product sent to them and if the product is in error they will send me another one. I asked for a full refund since I only had the product for 2 months and just started learning how to use it. I got no response. This would be a neat product if it worked accurately everytime and they paid for the shipping to honor their warranty.

This was a Christmas gift for the contractor that is doing a lot of work for us and not nickle and diming us to death so I wanted to give him a thank you Christmas gift. He did not have this and was delighted by it.

This Laser Measure works as advertised and has a load of great features. Unfortunately it is limited to indoor or very low light outdoor use. The laser pointer that is meant to hit your target to measure to is very weak and almost impossible see in sunlight.So for inside it is a 5 star. For outside a 1 star.
