Overall quality good but I had to add a stainless steel tab to hold the socket flap closed when the cheapo spring broke. Happy overall.

Good price, clean look, wiring space a bit tight but not too difficult. Will have to see how durable it is under the harsh winters and heat I get here. Only quibble is that the "Generac 6393 Flip Lid Accessory for Power Inlet Box Models 6342/6343/6344/6336/6337 and 6338 " should be included always, not sold as an option. Inlet receptacle is of high quality, and that is the most important thing.

I have installed this box for many customers and it is perfect. I dont understand why people think they need a flip cover on it as the receptacle faces the bottom and the one at my home I just leave the cord plugged into it and hang it from the box like it is a hose reel. Even still it is not a place that wasps or other inscets are going to nest.

Great generator hook up. Get an A/C pigtail and add a 4th wire of same gauge as the rest and tap it into a 30 Amp breaker and you're all set.

Of all the power inlets available, I like this one the best for it's plastic enclosure. Over the years I have installed many of the other brands with metallic enclosures, a good number of them have rusted out. This and the Reliance non-metallic are my first choises.

Great product. Good quality, easy to install, sturdy. If you consider this product dangerous, it is because your electric setup is not appropriate and LEGAL. (you can get heavily fined for that or even sued if any damage occurs to your utility provider's equipment) No live current should come from the male connector, EVER! I do not understand the guy that gave it one star due to this... I would not want to be this guy's insurer... Furthermore, the connector should face down if properly installed, therefore, I had no issue with water that would need to challenge gravity to make it inside. I chose to order the flip lid after receiving it (mainly to avoid pests, just in case), should be ok without it though, your choice. Very FAST and efficient shipping!

FYI, "non metallic resin" means...it's plastic. As long as it holds up in the sunlight, it will work fine. They warrant it for 2 years, so evidently they're pretty confident. The "3r" is a NEMA rating that calls it rain and sleet proof. The inlet is on the bottom, so there's no wonky flip cover that you have to interact with when you're trying to hook up the generator at 3am. As long as you mount it somewhere you're not likely to hit it with the lawnmower or weedwhacker, it should be fine. I just wish it were a little less expensive given that it is plastic. Remember, it's best to have a qualified, licensed electrician install this where required.

High quality. The cable goes into the bottom so it is rain proof. I mounted this on the outside of the house and run a 10 foot cord to the generator. Great set-up.

I gave this one star because the metal plugins are exposed and present a danger to people. The item was also advertised as rain tight which was obviously not the case with the open plugins. I returned this product. The seller paid for return shipping and refunded my money. Good seller though.
