Good value for great set of wrenches. Replaced my old (but good) Craftsman set. One ding is they do not lock socket to wrench, but I know that in advance.

The rention clip for the 1/4-inch drive 120xp ratchet is completely loose. You can literally spin the clip 360 degrees using your thumb. The products came with numerous scratches, nicks, dents and marring. I understand that these are tools and will eventually undergo wear and tear but I paid for full price for brand new merchandise. If the items are sold in this condition, then the price should reflect the condition of the product, therefore the customer shouldn't have to pay full price. What ever happened to quality control and taking pride in your brand and products. Please stop fooling customers into thinking they are purchasing new products.

I was looking for a set of ratchets and found an excellent set with this Gearwrench product. They are obviously well made and fit well in your hand. The three degree swing arc makes it easy to use in tight spaces and the gear movement is smooth as well. If you're looking for a moderately priced set of drivers, look no more.

The ratchets themselves are great, and you can really tell just how nicely put together the mechanism is just playing around with it. The chrome finish however, isn't quite up to par. Each ratchet has at least a couple of dings and dents underneath the chrome that stand out, and you can tell this had to have happened during manufacturing and not shipping because the chrome itself is undamaged in those spots and the packaging (I didn't realize this came with a pre-cut foam tray, it's a really nice touch) is excellent. Each ratchet also has a sort of "spotting" or speckling in the finish where it must not have adhered properly during the plating process, as well as light scratches. Now if this were a $50+ dollar ratchet I'd be pissed, but the reality of the situation is these are around $25 each and work absolutely fine, with the added bonus (at least in my opinion) of being made in Taiwan instead of China. I'll be keeping mine, and hopefully they'll sort out their issues with rough handling during manufacturing in the future.

These ratchets are amazing. Quality is up to part with the other big tool companies like Snapon, Mac, Matco etc. The ratcheting mechanism feels incredibly smooth but doesn't feel cheap.

I gave this product 5 stars only so they dont hide my comment but I really give it a 3 because of warranty issues. The ratchet is great but when a warranty part needs replacing Gearwrench customer service is not helpful. I just order this set plus the 84T set and it came broken. So I just contacted Gearwrench to send the piece needed rather then returning the ratchet over a small little part and they told me theres no kit or parts available. So which means they don't want to warranty the product. However if you know a store that sells Gearwrench then you are able to go there for an exchange but don't expect Gearwrench customer service to help.

Comfortable in the hand, finish is holding up well, ratcheting actions still holding up very well after a lot of use. I have recommended these to many people. I needed a high quality 1/4" ratchet for motorcycle maintenance. I had gone threw husky, kobalt, and craftsman versions and was not happy with any of them. I bought this whole set and a single snap-on 1/4" ratchet, yes about the same price, to compare. I really do use the 1/4" almost exclusively and wanted a really good one! I would have kept the snap-on if it blew me away. Alas, Snap-on and this felt comparable ie couldn't justify the giant markup so the snap on went back. I have been very happy with these. I live in WA state and the garage is unheated. No corrosion at all after a year.

I'm very impressed with these ratchets. They work smooth in very tight quarters and don't slip while cranking hard on them. They run so smooth they can still ratchet a fastener when it is fairly loose. I can loosen a fastener with my old pear heads until they won't ratchet, take a 120XPs and continue loosening the fastener further before I have to reposition and turn out by hand the rest of the way. They feel well balanced and sit great in your hand. I always had a socket release in my previous ratchets and thought I would miss it but I have completely forgotten about it they work so well.I also have the 84 tooth set and they are also excellent.

These are incredible ratchets. I have fallen in love with them since I discovered them over a year ago. First of all that last review is nonsense. Snap-On does offer a 2 degree swing ratchet but if you are talking value the gear wrench costs nothing and is a giveaway for something that works extremely well for breaking a bolt loose in tight spaces... Sure an old worn craftsman will have less resistance in the swing allowing you to ratchet until the weight of the wrench swings a nut around a bolt, put the bolt on by hand as far as you can anyways, if you can't reverse the nut by hand these ratchets will still click. The dual pawls is a great design and does the opposite of what the last guy claims, it handles a boatload of torque, I often use a pipe or box wrench to extend the ratchet on really stubborn bolts and it never breaks. There are two clicks seemingly closer together when traversing by hand but it is as advertised, 3-degrees before the next lock and is much more consistent in application than playing with it by hand. These are durable wrenches and nothing else feels better in the hand - it has the handle of a breaker bar. I throw them all over gravel and use them under fleet trucks every day, the finish is still in-tact and I wipe them off with a little gunk brake clean and they shine like new. I love them so much I'm going to buy a couple extra sets for my home use and garage use, including the combo packs with metric and standard sockets as well. If there was one ultimate improvement that could set these over the top above every other ratchet it would be to add a quick release button, but it's still not bad popping a socket off even when wet with the knurled sockets by gearwrench.
