I purchased it for my 10 year old son. The instrument indeed is a good starter kit because it gets 1 time a week for 1 hour use. After 1 month the sticks broke and I purchased replacement locally and dropped it off at school for him. At this time I had to carry the instrument and found out it’s SO HEAVY! My poor son with his backpack and the instrument carried in one hand by the carry case is almost brutal cause if the weight of it. The distance between classes and walking to carpool pick up makes it almost impossible to look forward to music class for him.

I was going to spend JUST as much $ to rent this from a local music shop for the school year. So I figured having multiple kids, I would buy it instead so I had it just Incase any of my other kids need it. It’s held up really well with my 12 year old son who is in Band. The bag is still in Great shape. It comes with EVERYTHING you need except a music book.

This is great for me, a vibraphone player, when I have to go on vacation or an extended visit. It gives me the opportunity to practice away from home. It has a good sound for its small size. Only complaint is you have to spin the glockenspiel to get it tight on the stand.

This instrument does not have a pleasant tone, and very little volume. Flimsy and not worth the price.

The music stand it came with was not the one pictured and is pretty lousy. It doesn’t have the cross bars and is silver, not black. Loose pages can’t be used on it at all. The bell set itself is nice, seems sturdy, and plays in tune. They should change the photo, since I purchased this version rather than one with a stand thinking I would get the better music stand pictured with this one.

I purchased one of these for my grandson for Christmas. It arrived without any problems in a timely manner. The sound of the lower range notes is quite nice, the sound of the upper range notes seem a little out of tune (flat). The price was good, although the mallets that came with it looked as though they were used. They were very scarred around the largest part of the ball which would strike the keys. The keyboard itself did not look used but the mallets looked as though they were some possibly returned from another customer. If I had to do over again, I would probably have spent the extra money and got one with a stand. The CB percussion set may sound better although it has less amount of notes. I would have given a five star rating had it been a little more in tune and had I received new mallets with it.

This is a quality item at a fair price. I purchased this for my daughter, she is in 6th grade band. It is light enough for a young girl to pack around in addition to a book bag and sturdy enough to take the punishment of her little brother. We are a percussion loving family and we are happy to add this to our collection.

I am by no means a music genius but wanted to learn a musical instrument, this one was in my price range and it sounds amazing! I have experience with the piano so I like how this one is organized like a piano, it makes it easier to play. I am learning how to play the little snowflake song on it and the notes are tuned perfect. The packaging was a little scary, but everything was nice and neat in the padded bag so nothing was harmed. I also like the music sheet stand. The keys are sturdy and seem durable and are screwed in tight so it should be hard to pop off. The mallets are rubber and plastic, so unless you need 4 mallets for chords this is great! For the price it's unbeatable from what I have researched and seen. I love this and am looking forward to playing it!
