I bought to hang my radio mic off of. It’s not strong enough to hold it in place. Likely wasn’t designed to support that much weight. I don’t really have a use for it now.

It’s a great little retractor, but if you want it for diving, all the metal parts are NOT stainless, so it begins to rust immediately! It would seem the company could spend a few more cents and use stainless when they know divers want it! 🙄

This would be fine for maybe ONE SMALL fish-identifier card, but that's it! It cannot hold anything substantial & not even a slate, definitely not a flashlight. So for the price, it's good to hold something VERY SMALL and VERY Light! The retractor just won't hold anything else.

Not many products out there like this meant for diving. I doubled up on some of my more expensive gear. Lights, cameras, etc. It helps keep it from falling on shore and adds some protection against failure. They seem to work quite well

I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money to fix my "emergency compass" to my BCD.I thought it'll do the job, but it's "too heavy". The compass retracts from the water flowing down the compasswhile diving. Could work to have a retracting pen to your slate? I just can't come up with something much lighter thatwould make sense to put on it.
