I bought this to replace a GE Cassette Adapter that seemed to have a short in the cord where the headphone jack is. This one seems to have a similar issue but doesn't occur unless you touch that spot. I've tried other brands of cassette adapters but their sound is extremely low compared to GE so I stick with them.

This is a simple solution that works well for listening to my iPhone in my car, it functions perfectly and does everything you’d expect out of a cassette adapter.

I thought having GEs' name on the package meant it would be a good product. It is not. Plays on 1 side only and is extremely noisy. Don't Buy.

Works almost perfectly. Had it about a month and a half and have very limited problems. Occasionally it freaks out and ejects the tape, but normally I just push it back in like normal and it works. I had one time where it did this repeatedly, which was slightly concerning. I worry because of this, it might break..but honestly this foreshadowing is the only reason that it hasn't gotten 5 stars from me, but so far it pretty much deserves 4.5. Its a good buy if its at the right price for you

I have a stock radio in my early 2000s vehicle. I have tried Blutooth, I've tried plug in to the phone radio transmitters. They all seem to fuzz out and volume isn't the greatest. This works well. It works best with the volume high and a loud song. Soft music and talk can get drowned out by the sound of the tape deck. At least in my vehicle.

Bought this to replace an older one that's wires were becoming loose. This one does not stay in the cassette player and constantly spits back out. Cannot use.

Compared to nearly every other method of getting sound from one device to another, cassette adapters are genuinely terrible. No matter how good the source, it will never sound better or perform better than a regular cassette would. It might even be worse than that. However, if you have an older car like I do, it's this or an FM transmitter, and I've had pretty bad luck with those. With that out of the way, I've used many other brands and models, and this is the best of them─even the expensive ones like Monster makes. With daily use, cassette adapters like these wear out fairly quickly. I'm gentle with them, but mine generally only last a few months. Then I'm twisting around the jack and messing with the cable to try and make stereo sound work. This one lasts longer than most but eventually it will fail. Usually I get 2 months out of other adapters. This one has consistently given me 3-4. (I've been using these for longer than I thought. Wow. Probably should have spent that money on a new head unit with an aux jack...) If your device allows you to switch to mono and pull all of the sound through the channel that's still working, you can get some extra life out of the adapter once the stereo goes out, but my phone doesn't do that.In terms of sound, quality is as described above: like a cassette but maybe worse. Compared to others, this is at or near the top. The top just isn't very high. This one delivers audio at a reasonable volume, so you don't have to fiddle with it too much. I find it works best when I set my source device to about 75% volume, and leave it there. That puts it in the same ballpark as other audio sources, so you can just use the car's audio controls from there and won't have to fiddle with the audio when you switch to radio or CD. Also, if you turn it up too high, you'll get nasty sound distortion. In my experience, that's all true for most adapters, but I've had some that were too quiet and too loud.Relative to other cassette adapters, this one is the best, but it only gets four stars because a 3-4 month lifespan isn't good enough for five stars.
