I replace my embers every year for the simple fact they collect dust over the summer and smell the first several burns of the year. These are the best embers I have used and the bag is big enough to last for years.

We bought a house with a propane fireplace 8 years ago. It's been nice, upgraded to a wifi controller with auto thermostat, but it didn't look so great. The logs were fine, but it didn't have that feel of a real fireplace. So I decided to swap out the fire wool. Bought another product (from a local store, not Amazon). Had it a month and it really wasn't much better. A friend said it looked like it was still the old wool, so I hit Amazon and checked reviews. Picked this up and I cannot describe the difference. It consistently glows like embers and holds a little flame close to the logs. Exactly what you want it to do. There was so much in the pack that we have enough for a second replacement when (if?) the current wool starts to fall off. It really is a big visual upgrade to your propane/gas fireplace. 👍
