The installation is very simple: just insert the threaded cap into the spout and screw it clockwise onto the oil drum opening. Place the washer into the spout cap, then screw it onto the spout. You can also use the drill bit to create a vent hole in the drum, which allows for faster fueling.

This kit includes everything you need to fit a filler nozzle to gas containers that match the sizes listed. I use some plastic 5gal containers for the snow blower and lawn tractor and these fit and seal perfectly. No more frustration with factory spouts that need three hands to operate due to the safety mechanisms. The kit comes with three spouts and both coarse and fine threaded fittings to suit many gas containers.

These worked to replace the spouts on my old gas cans. I like that they are simple and come without some of the cumbersome locking features of the original spouts. The colors are nice and bright, and they seem sturdy. I have several gas cans of different types and styles. These fit all of them without an issue.

I had two different gas cans that needed new spouts. One was an older one of similar type and the other was one of those "safety" spouts that actually put you at greater risk for spilling. These new spouts were easy to install and came with the drill bit needed as well as the gaskets for each of the different pieces. One of the cans was a perfect fit. The old spout came off and the new replacement just slipped on and there was no leakage during use. The vent cap was simple to install and works very well on both. The second can has slightly different threads on the main opening than the replacement does. This means that if there is extra pressure on the spout when in use, there is a change of leakage and a likelihood that the whole spout will pop off, which it did for me. Look at the threads on the can before making the purchase. If the can you are wanting to use this on has thicker threads (see photo) look for something else. The replacement spout has narrower threads. If these will fit your gas can, they work great. If they don't match pretty closely, you may be in for a surprise.

I had a gas can that came with a weird safety nozzle. To use the old nozzle I had to lift the gas can, hook the notch on the nozzle to the edge of the gas cap and let the weight of the can push the nozzle open. This is literally a nightmare to deal with as a petite woman trying to hold up the heavy gas can without spilling it. Replacing that old nozzle with one of these was super simple and only took a few minutes. This will make my life so much easier when I need to put gas in the mower or the generator. I also like having the extra parts to repair and fix up a couple of older gas cans that needed a new cap.
