I really like this product. The digital keyboard is easy to use for its size. I get a good connection, the tracking options and downloads are solid, and it has good battery life. The challenge is really with the complexity of navigating all of Garmin's options and restrictions. It works with some apps, but doesn't work with others you would expect it to work with. You cannot have multiple devices on the same account, or at least that's what I was told when I called. Even the other inreach device I use has to be on a separate account and uses different apps. If you only plan to have one Garmin device, and need gps texting and emergency support, this is what you want to buy. Unfortunately, Gamin has restricted which devices work with with apps and which type of account, so when comparing products just remember it really doesn't matter if you already have other Garmin products, because they don't really work together (or at least I have not found a good way to do that).

Works well. No problems connecting to a satellite and sending check in notices when hiking and driving in very remote locations. Nice to have for peace of mind when traveling in northern Canada and Alaska.

Works great as long as you can see open sky. A little slower connection when you are under cover. But it still works.
