This is a replacement for an old "conventional" backyard splitter that I could no longer use since I needed a pliers to open/close the shutoff valve handles. This well-made splitter is very functional and made to last in an outdoor environment. It has long levers which are easy to operate; no more need to use a pair of pliers to turn on/off water. I should have got rid of the old one years ago .. !!!

I've had many, many splitters over the decades, so I've seen about every way they can either work well, only OK, or fail. I prefer plastic splitters because they always seem to be very easy to turn the little switching knobs. Unfortunately, our extreme summer sunshine and temps will turn them to dust within just a few years. But metal splitters have historically been a bitch to turn, which is my whole interface with them, so I've avoided them after a couple of bad experiences. Not so with this splitter. The switching knobs are quite easy to turn, which will make life simple and long lasting. Other reviewers have talked about having leaks and/or using tape to try to prevent them, though I've never had leaks with new splitters and just replace washers whenever that occurs.

I like to have both a long hose for distance and a short hose that allows me to use he water without having to unwind a long hose. The OPERMAXER hose splitter looks like jus the solution. The brass seems pretty solid and the threading was cut pretty well. It took a few tries, but it fit into my 25-year old outdoor faucet pretty well with minimal drippage. You can tell if it is not tight enough if the diverter-end is loose. If it is, give it another go. I added some seal tape just to secure the splitter to the faucet and the hoses. The knobs feel strong and gives some feedback when it is on. A great buy!

I ordered this splitter so I could connect the one shorter hose we use for right near the house, which is used daily, and a much longer heavier hose which is a bi**h to unroll and roll back up, (have yet to find a good method of dealing with this) that is only used a few times a week for plantings near the entry to our drive. This splitter was the perfect solution. Now I can just unroll the lighter hose for my daily use and not deal with the crazy heavy mess of the other hose. The installation was very simple, no leaking, and the handles turn smoothly, now just waiting for spring so we can start our planting and watering!!

This garden hose splitter was exactly what I needed to be able to tap into the water source outside of my house. Since I have to connect it to my pool all the time, this splitter will allow me to connect a separate water hose for garden use while keeping it connected to the pool. The brass quality looked good and had no issue of putting it on. The splitter design is typical and the piping threads on the splitter were good. The knobs worked well and connected without any issues.

Got this to replace a corroded two-way set that I have on my garden hose started leaking like crazy and I saw this online and decided to give it a shot. Overall, the build quality is really good on this thing. Looks like it was meant to last a long long time after I installed it. I checked for leaks and it doesn't seem to be giving any leaks at least for the first week that I've had it. Overall quality is really high quality brass. The handles for shutting on and off are pretty sturdy and girthy. The ball bearings themselves for the water are smooth. They don't seem to feel rough at all and I can see how this piece can last a long time, but we'll see

Great quality brass, but small and stiff turn valves. Also the valves are SUPER SMALL and limit water flow. As it said heavy duty and with the large brass pipe, I assumed it was a full flow, but the valves are reducing the flow by more than two thirds.

We are preparing to install irrigation in our combined barn and workshop area, so I’ve been purchasing the components we’ll need. Although I’ve been ordering EBH’s splitters exclusively due to their quality, I decided to order one of these to see if it was comparable. Unfortunately, although it is well-made in most regards, it fell short when directly compared to EBH.The two units share many similarities. These heavy-duty brass splitters include an inlet that rotates 360°, which makes them easier to install than fixtures that are solid, but EBH’s ring is hexagonal in shape instead of round, which provides a sturdier, beefier fit. EBH also includes a roll of plumber’s tape, but, as of yet, I’ve never needed to use any to achieve a leak-proof union. Both diverters have 3/4” outlet connectors, but, while EBH encloses a rubber grommet for each as well as yellow and green dust caps, Obermaxer does not. Their package does not include the grommets, and it only comes with blue caps, so you can’t color code any of the connections. The threaded areas on EBH’s handles are longer as well and the handles function flawlessly; however, one of the two handles on the Obermaxer unit sticks consistently and it requires an extra bit of oomph to pass that point to close tightly. While we’ve really been impressed with EBH’s quality, the Obermaxer are a touch disappointing. While Obermaxer is definitely better quality than many of the other splitters on the market (hence, the four stars), EPH is the superior unit. Both units cost $25, but EBH is better made and it provides more extras. We will remain with the EBH brand.
