I have now bought these carabiner clips twice. I keep one set in my apartment (in South Carolina) and one set in my home (in North Carolina). I use them when I exercise with bands. I feel very secure with these clips. They are very easy to use -- I can use them one-handed! I recommend them.

I climb trees regularly and use these all the time. Use them for slings as well. It can handle some weight, but regularly check them.

The 4-pack of auto-locking carabiners rated at 25kN has proven to be an excellent addition to my climbing and outdoor gear collection. These carabiners are not only incredibly strong but also incredibly convenient. The auto-locking mechanism provides an added layer of safety, ensuring that the gate stays securely closed when not intentionally opened. This feature has been particularly valuable during belaying, anchoring, and setting up quickdraws, as it reduces the risk of accidental gate openings, enhancing overall safety during climbs. The 25kN strength rating of these carabiners inspires confidence in their reliability, making them suitable for a wide range of climbing applications, from sport climbing to traditional and alpine routes. Their compact and lightweight design adds minimal weight to my gear, which is crucial for long approaches and climbs where every ounce matters. The bright colors and smooth gate action make them easy to identify and handle during fast-paced climbing situations. In summary, this 4-pack of auto-locking carabiners has proven to be a valuable and versatile addition to my climbing gear, offering both the strength and safety features I require for a wide range of climbing adventures.

So, let's talk about these FVW Auto Locking Rock Climbing Carabiner Clips. As an outdoorsy guy, I can appreciate the heavy-duty construction of these clips. They can certainly handle some serious weight, which is great if you're trying to secure your gear while out in the wilderness. While these carabiner clips have some positive features, they also have some drawbacks that should be carefully considered before using them for rock climbing or other high-risk activities.First, let's talk about the positives. The FVW Auto Locking Rock Climbing Carabiner Clips are indeed heavy duty and have a high strength rating of 25KN, or 5620 pounds. They are made of durable aluminum alloy and are well-suited for use in extreme outdoor environments, where strength and reliability are essential. The auto-locking mechanism is also a great feature, providing extra security and peace of mind for climbers and other outdoor enthusiasts. However, I can also understand the concerns that others have raised about the weight and auto-locking mechanism. If you're carrying a lot of gear on a backpacking trip, the extra weight of these carabiners can really add up. And if you're trying to quickly attach or detach something, the auto-locking mechanism can be a bit of a hassle. But let's not overlook the everyday applications of these carabiners. They can be useful for securing things to your bag or belt loop, and the rugged design means that they can handle some serious wear and tear. And even though the auto-locking mechanism can be a bit finicky, it's also a safety feature that can help prevent your gear from accidentally falling off.So, overall, I think these FVW Auto Locking Rock Climbing Carabiner Clips have their pros and cons. If you're planning on doing some serious rock climbing or backpacking, the heavy-duty construction and auto-locking mechanism might be worth it. But if you're just using them for everyday applications, you might want to look for something a bit lighter and easier to use.I hate to beat a dead horse but the Auto Lock feature, I mean, I'm sure it's supposed to be a cool feature, but have you ever tried to use one of these things with gloves on? It's like trying to type with boxing gloves on, it just doesn't work. And even if you're not wearing gloves, these things can be a real finger workout. You're gonna need some serious grip strength to get them to lock and unlock.

This review is for FVW 3 Pieces Heavy Duty Climbing Carabiners, 25KN Auto Locking Rock Climbing Carabiners Clips (Orange). We were hosting an escape artist Service Dog (100+lb German Sheppard) who loves cats (and is cat safe) - the cats OTOH had different ideas about that relationship. Unfortunately, we had to crate him during a medical appointment, and his efforts toward kitty friendship would not be thwarted by a silly old locked Metal XL crate using three cheap carabiners as backup. We returned home to two cats on top of a dresser (within reach of the dog if he stood up on his hind legs), a sleeping dog on the floor next to the dresser and two broken unrated/cheap metal carabiners (standard gate & threaded locking mechanism) and a bent front crate panel. Time for an immediate upgrade, this time getting something actually climb rated and auto locking. These worked great - they ensured he couldn't 'break' the gate mechanism (placed one on top, latch side and bottom), or manage to somehow open the gate to undo it's placement (we suspect he used his mouth on his previous escape). They held up with no signs of damage despite his best efforts to escape during later confinements. My measurements (as seen in the photos) were as follows:Longest Length - 4.5 inWidest Point on tapered side - 2.75 inNarrowest Point on tapered side - 1.5 inWidth varied between 0.25 - 0.312 on body of carabiner **did not measure auto lock width which would have been thickerI also included a photo showing this next to a BlackDiamond screw gate carabiner for size referencing.Do note that the twist lock is a little difficult to operate one handed as the spring is stiff - it can be done, but everyone else in the house has to use two hands. It is designed this way intentionally so that the gate cannot open accidentally without direct and distinct actions being taken. As such, I would not want to use this in an application were I needed to frequently lock/unlock the carabiner , or in a situation where my life depended on my ability to operate it in less than ideal conditions using only one hand. However, applications like connecting your swiss seat to an Figure 8, holding a metal XL dog crate door closed, or an attachment point for certain gear (hammock line/backpack attachment point) would be the perfect uses for this device.
