The Heavy Duty Carabiner Clip Climbing Carabiner(25kn=5600lbs) are crude, heavy beaners. I was surprised at how heavy these beaners are compared to top tier climbing equipment. They are also crude without the fine machining that quality beaners have. In the photo I attached you can see a big burr in one of the gates that prevents smooth operation. I am not impressed by the locking mechanism, either. They are just stiff and I don't feel they are safe. There are uses for these but I would not use them in a situation where my life depended on secure, repeatable operation.

As soon as I received it, I can feel the weight to it. It seems really strong. The description says it has a 5600 pound load capacity which is why I feel confident I can use this in my home gym. The item description also states it is 6.3 inches in length, but when I measured it, it is only about 4 inches long. I don’t know if that was an error, but nevertheless it feels plenty strong.

I am not a climber so can't speak to how well these stack up against the competition, but they seem like very very stout carabiners to me. They claim to be rated to 25kN which is I think about 4-5x more force than an average falling person would generate on an anchor/carabiner according to an article I read from Petzl. They claim to be certified but not sure if I would trust that from an alphabet soup company. That being said, I think they would be perfectly fine for the occasional use for a homeowner that just needs to get up on their steep roof or climb a tree to remove a dead limb. I played around with all 5 of them. 1 of the 5 had a stiff gate that didn't spring shut when you pushed it ALL the way in (but it would spring shut if you just snap it onto another carabiner/anchor). Also 1 out of 5 had a slightly stiffer screw nut that was strangely easy to tighten to the point that it was impossible for me to unscrew by hand (though would be no problem for an actual climber's hands). At only $18 for a 5-pack this seems like a really good deal. Probably wouldn't consider this if I was serious climber since they are extremely heavy at 160g each and have a questionable certification, but for the average joe that just needs a safety rope once a year or needs them for general utility/rigging, these are a great deal.

These carabiners have a rated load of 5600 lbs., and while I have no way of testing it, they are plenty strong and thick with a positive screw lock so they will be adequate for hoisting my Jeep roof and doors up into my rafters for storage, which is my intended use. Good price point for a set of five climb rated carabiners. Believe me these are not the garbage aluminum ones you see for almost the same price.

I wanted some extra heavy-duty carabiners to use with my fall protection equipment. These carabiners are definitely suitable. They look very similar to the carabiner that came with my fall protection lanyard. These are made of steel so they are moderately heavy, and the locking mechanism for the closure requires you to turn the barrel on a screw thread. So, these are probably not what you want for mountaineering where light weight and quick snap-in action are needed. But these cost far less than a mountaineering carabiner, and they do the job just fine for my use. The barrels turn smoothly on their threads and the carabiners swing open easily once unlocked. I measured the opening and it will clear a bit over ½ inch. That will snap on most anchors such as eye bolts, but you will, of course, need something that opens wider to snap onto something big like a steel pipe. These are solid and secure and I think the $16.99 price for five of them is also quite a bargain for large, heavy-duty carabiners.

The strength rating on these carabiners is shown to be 5600 pounds. It may be that this is accurate, but I have some concerns with the design. The gate lock does not go up and over the gate latch. It seats up against it preventing the gate from opening, but does not give any additional support to the hook. The gate lock moves easily and has heavy knurling on it to help with grip. For weightlifting, hanging a swing or hammock, I'm sure that they will be great. For the price, I think these are a good buy and hard to beat.

Heavy duty and well made. They have good weight to them. The spring is tight and does require a little force to open, but firmly stays closed. This has a locking mechanism as well. It’s a good size that it easy to hold as well. It has a nonslip finish as well. I think the price is incredibly fair given the quality. I would recommend them.
