I bought a magnet kit that includes several feet of rope. The carbadjers were so cheaply made, I figured I would loose my magnet on first try. So I found these two for 12.00 bucks they auto lock. They are heavy duty and I put them on my rope. No more worry about loosing my magnet. If I need more I will order them here.

Four for $36 seems a bit steep for carabiners that aren’t certified by an official climbing authority. They are very lightweight which also makes me think I’ll pretend they weren’t described as being able to hold a thousand pounds. I wouldn’t want to test that myself, but they’ll be great for securing my dog’s tie-out lead, and clipping items together during our camping and hiking adventures. I do think the spring action is great and the locking feature elevates these well beyond cheap ones you buy in bulk for clipping keys to your backpack. They look very smart, and this four-pack is a nice array of colors so you can color-code things. There is a black, and also a graphite color which isn’t easy to see until you take them all out of the individual plastic wraps. They come in a nice, slim box which would be a breeze to gift wrap. But I would hesitate to gift these to a true climber unless the seller can get an official strength and load rating and add that to the packaging and even on the carabiners themselves. These are great looking and feel very well made and sturdy, but without certification by an authority I think they are a bit overpriced. I’ve seen pro carabiners at REI that retail for around this price, but you get the assurance for your safety that these lack.Hopefully they can get someone to put their strength claims to the test - for me, we’ll stick to casual use.

Large and substantial yet somewhat lightweight. Very nicely done. I feel fully confident with these as attachment points on my dogs homemade leash.I use one as her harness attachment and keep the other on the handle in case of emergency. Very versatile things.

I am not into climbing, but these are the nicest carabiners I have ever used. They are machined and finished nicely, are very strong. The locking ring is top notch and works flawlessly.

I'm old school and my carabiners still have screw-based locks. These guys feel like a huge step up. The locking mechanism can be worked with a single hand, quickly snapping into place. These carabiners are super light, and feel extremely sturdy. However, as many others have pointed out, they aren't certified. Would I trust these for climbing? Nope. So I'll end up using them for camping tasks, hoisting gear to protect from bears, and maybe doing some climbing training where there isn't a deadly fall beneath you.Certification would make these a great buy for climbers everywhere!

The best feature about this carabiner is the auto locking feature. On the open, you need to twist the sleeve. On closure, one you've released the bar to spring back on closing, the sleeve just locks itself quickly. It doesn't open by itself once closed. I love that you know you don't have to double check on closures constantly. Other than that, it's made very well with perfect anodizing. The finish on it is very smooth and blemish free. The pivot point on the lever is smooth in operation as well. The sleeve twists in a very solid motion in closure which gives you that sense of security. Overall, this is one of the best self-locking carabiners that I'll ever own. It's really worth it for that feature as well as the flawless finish on them.

Let's start with some math conversions. The 25K newtons of SIDE pull strength (not really useful) is equal to 5,625 pounds. The 8K newtons of vertical pull strength is equal to 1,800 pounds. That's your real load capacity. I'm not sure why they give a second, 7K side pull, but it's equal to about 1,575 pounds of pull strength. These twist lock carabiners are really quite attractive and are equally useful for pretty much whatever kind of body weight pull/support needs that you may have. The spring on the twist gate is stronger than I was expecting, and the knurling is deep enough so it can still be twisted/opened with one hand. For the price, considering that you get two of them, I think that these are a good buy.

These appear to be very good quality carabiners. They are well finished with no rough surfaces or sharp edges to abrade the rope. The anodization seems durable and should resist wear. And the screw-gate operates smoothly enough for one-finger operation. These should work great for general camp utility purposes such as suspending hammocks or hanging food in bear country. They are labeled as good for 24kN. However, with no UIAA or CE certification I would hesitate to use them for climbing. UIAA certified 24kN screwgate biners such as the Mammut Classic can be had for a similar price.
