Unable to achieve exact colour match, needed to supplement with wood stain. Difficult to reverse resulting discolouration. Note its unlikely you'll have hidden areas you can test on with the same bleaching characteristics. Will work for some situations I'm sure, but not easy to blend - a blunt weapon

I was a little hesitant, but saw the good reviews and gave it a shot. Took all the scratches on a 30 yr old buffet and credenza to a like new look!! I started with a shade or two lighter, then touched up with a little darker and it was perfect! LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!

The crayon didn’t even stay in the light scratches on my honey/red oak flooring, and the lightest color of crayon and pen was way too dark.

The colors are all super dark! On paper they loom ok but on wood they are too dark. I needed a light pine color

Although I was immediately disappointed in how small the crayons were (since I purchased this kit mostly for the wax crayons), the products in the kit work very well.Our brand new vanity had just been installed in our freshly remodeled bathroom, when the electrician dropped a heavy tool right onto the vanity backsplash (which is made out of the matching wood). Right there, in the middle of the board, a big white ding and chip. Everyone started pointing it out to me almost immediately, which was a real bummer.After finding this product, I decided to give it a try. I practiced on the back of a shelf before trying it in a place that would be easily seen. It is definitely a good idea to start out with the LIGHTEST COLOR MATCH to your piece, then BUILD UP with slightly darker colors until a good match is achieved. And DEFINITELY, DO NOT USE THE COLOR DESCRIPTIONS as a guideline for which color to use for your piece. Every piece of wood and stain is unique and the best way to achieve a good match is to use a variety of colors, with only a small amount at a time. After careful buildup of color and tone, I was able to get a very good match for my cabinet. It looks pretty darn good, so I will definitely be using this product again. Also, heating to soften the end of the crayon first allows for a better, deeper application of the wax. The match is pretty darn good for being such a big chip, but it takes a lot of experience and patience to make it completely disappear. I'm very happy with it now, but I may touch it up again later.It's a pretty good kit and the variety of colors make it very useful!
