Our 7 month dutch shepherd is going through her first shed and we decided to give this item a go. We have been using the vacuum and the Bona mop on our floor everyday to try to keep up with the hair. Out of desperation we bought this brush. This works amazingly well! A game changer for us! I could not believe how much of the undercoat it removed in just 5 minutes. Worth every cent of the price. A simple design and a good build.

Re: Small dog, Long hair tool -I took a chance on this after reading the reviews. SO GLAD I did! I started using this on my Blenheim Cavalier KC Spaniel two and a half weeks ago, brushing him every other day with it. It has cut down on the shedding more than 90%. It is easy to use and Brecken loves to get brushed with it.I hate to see people "shave" their Cavaliers to keep them cool. Please use this brush instead! It will remove the thick undercoat, keeping them comfortable PLUS the fur is shiny, soft and hair doesn't get all over us now. My husband says the price of this is totally worth it and I agree. The guards help keep this safe and not dig in. I've had other deshedding tools in the past (with other dogs) and they weren't this good. Highly recommended. Invest in this tool for your furbaby - and yourself!Update: I see that this has gone up in price nearly $6.00 since I bought it not even a few months ago. This is an AWESOME tool but to gorge the price just because of GREAT reviews and recommending this tool to others, now you gorge the price! Shame on you!

My adorable mix breed dog, that I rescued by the side of the road, is one of the worst shedding dogs that I ever owned! And I use to have St. Bernards. So I took my dog to a great, new vet at Useless Bay Veterinary on Whidbey Island in WA state. The vet used this product to check her for fleas or mites and her undergrowth fur came out, like cutting warm butter. She didn't even jerk or feel the vet brushing her. Super to use. Has a push down "button" that clears away the fur. She is not shedding fur now! Great product. And she is not scratched like the saw blade instrument I usually used. Her haunches are super fluffy and long furred that gets knotted up and matted. I still had to cut the mats apart to get this tool to do it's designed job. This gets the loose fur off the skin and is a great size to match her diminutive size. So I looked at the vets supply, for sale. The small size was sold out, so I tried to find it for sale on Amazon. Super happy to have found it!!! She is too. Wonderful product and worth it to make a great review. If you have medium or large dogs get the size that's comparable in this product. You won't be disappointed. Took a little time to get it, but so happy to learn about this undercoat removal tool for my dear dog, especially as using it does not scratch her or hurt her. So, so easy to clean, with each stroke of the tool. Light to hold over lol ng grooming time. If you are a doer and manage your dogs grooming, this tool is PERFECT! The sizes are done by the pound weight of your dog! Performance is spot on.

We adopted a rescue puppy this summer who has grown a very short but wiry coat that sheds pretty bad- I find hair on our clothes, couch throws, her bedding, the floor, you name it. I read about this product in search for some sort of solution- I know that nothing will totally rid the house of shedding dog hair but I was hoping to at least find something to cut it wayyy back. The Furminator does exactly that- I bought the the mid-size (orange) one for short hair dogs on black Friday and have used it almost every morning since. WOW- what a huge improvement I've noticed EVERYWHERE. Less hair on our clothes, the floor, etc. We crate her every night and in the morning as I take her out I grab her Furminator and a regular brush. After she potties and we walk a bit I carefully run this over as much of her hair as I can, concentrating on the thickest parts on her lower back and behind her head (it's just bushier in those areas). You can't press down super hard or it will hurt and most likely cut the skin, but you want to use a steady hand and enough pressure (medium pressure?) to grab hair. Even though her hair is short, it definitely grabs the loose hair that would be falling out inside my house! Sometimes a lot comes off of her, sometimes not as much- but it always grabs something. After I finish Furminating her, I use the regular brush on her all over to remove even more and smooth her all out. At first our pup really hated it, and hated being brushed, but she's grown more calm and patient and will mostly sit still until she's just had enough and lets me know. You definitely want to use this outside- YIKES the hair you remove will be in your house if you don't. I can see it blowing into the air when I'm outside using it. For those of you tempted to buy the largest size (blue) even though your dog isn't super big, I struggled with that myself. Our dog is 23 pounds and not very big- but she's super muscular and SOLID. I considered getting the bigger one thinking it would save time and I'd have to make fewer passes with it on her body- BUT I just don't think that would have been the case. I really DO use the orange one to get into some smaller places on her (legs, throat) that would be much more diffiult if I'd purchased the largest size. And the orange one feels good in my hand- it's a solid tool with a little weight but very easy to use once you find the right pressure to apply (and once your dog decides to settle down and let you do the job). I'm glad I went with the Furminator- I saw the less expensive ones on Amazon and just thought that if there was something to put a little money into it would be this tool that is going to save me time and aggravation minimizing the dog hair on our clothes and all over our house. I think I paid $22 and it was totally worth it. OH! And the button on mine definitely DOES RELEASE the dog hair that it combs off, but sometimes I DO shake the tool and even blow on it occasionally but *poof* the hair blows away in the wind. Great product, highly recommend!

My Gabby Girl is a 90 pound Dutch Shepherd who does not like being brushed however the shedding was out of control. Petting her produced a cloud of fur. Not anymore. The Furminator deshedding tool is phenomenal! Use it daily, now when we pet Gabby we both enjoy a hair free time. I do not use any pressure when brushing her, the tool does the job without my applying much pressure. Start at her head to her tail and repeat. Thank you Furminator for producing a quality product that works. Will invest in the dematting tool next for Jazzy, our long haired tuxedo girl.

This works so well!!!! One brush stroke and I collected more hair than using a regular comb for 10min. I have the small, short hair version, would get a medium instead but great for short hair cats and Chihuahua.

Es muy buen producto para quitar el pelo suelto de mascotas con pelo pegado, el único detalle es que pensé que sería un poco más grande, pero igual no deja de ser muy buen producto. Lo recomiendo para perros de pelo pegado talla chica.
