I have a Bombay and a domestic short hair. Their hair is short and course like a pit bull or a horse. A slicker brush does nothing and a furmintor will make your pet bald. Get this tool. It is more affordable than the equigroomer that this copies. The equigroomer was designed around grooming horses and doesnt fantastic for them. It doesn't bald your pet. It has no blades to cut hair pretending to deshed the undercoat. It simply removes dead hair through the coat.My cats aren't blowing their coats but I had a while other cat worth of fur when using this. Help reduce hairballs by actually brushing your cats. Not those lame combs that do nothing to comfort your pet. This groom tool physically removes loose hair so it doesn't make it into your cats tummy and get stuck. It also significantly cuts down the vacuuming you'll be doing on your floors.Short firm strokes. Be gentle on your cat. A little pressure is needed. Every 2 or 3 days will yield so much hair and not give your cat aches. About 30 minute sessions each time. Plus it distributes oils evenly in the coat and it's a nice uniform look after one session.Know your pets hair type. Try this brush.

Love Love this. Works a lot better than those other style shedding blades. My daughter has the name brand/ more expensive one. I really liked her. I bought this in error. I believe this worked exactly the same.

This is a good brush if your dog has fine undercoat fur. Our dog is a lab/golden retriever mix, and the golden retriever undercoat can be a bear to remove! It's also the fine fur that loves to cling to clothes, furniture, car mats, etc. This brush (more of a comb, really) does a good job of pulling the undercoat to the surface and removing it. Just take care to use it gently. I recommend it!

one of our puppers is part husky, I think the part he got was the part that produces hair! We try all kinds of brushes and combs and such. Sometimes its the simple things. Using this comb, we are able to "build" 2 or 3 "new" puppers with the hair we can get off of this pup. We comb him every couple of days, usually alternating days with a pet vacuum, and the difference we have seen in hair reduction is great! I havn't used it on the horses yet, but it seems close enough to a curry comb, that it would probably work just as well on the horses.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this. I saw the word 'scraper', and I guess I was expecting something else. What I received was a very well made, elegant, single blade curry comb. So, I thought that I had just wasted my money. But, even though this is just a curry comb blade inserted into a piece of wood, the simple design makes it very easy to hold and work all the angles of my horse to get that matted hair combed - even better than a regular curry comb - or at least I thought so! And it does a good job of pulling out loose, shedding hair.If you are a maestro with a curry comb, I would say don't buy this. But if you're afraid to use a curry comb on your horse, or aren't very good at using one, then I would recommend this.

I bought this for my English Mastiff as he has a double coat and sheds a lot in the spring and fall. The brush does get a lot of the surface shed out, but misses a lot of the undercoating that other brushes would be able to get. I was able to get a significant amount of fur off the surface of our pup, but had to go over it a second time to get more of the undercoat. The handle is also a little awkward to hold when using. Overall it's not too bad but definitely could do a better job getting all of the fur.

I had a similar brush that worked great, and wanted to have one to keep in the car, but they can be so expensive. I am pleased to find that this one works just as good. the handle design is slightly different and it has a hole in it so you can hang it on a hook if you want. I like this kind of comb for dogs with shorter hair. Probably not so good for dogs with long hair, but I'm not sure. Mine are shorter haired.Very happy with it!

I am SO EXCITED about this deshedder. It does an AMAZING job with my super-mutt dog! If you’re not used to using deshedders, there might be a very small learning curve while you figure out what angle to hold this brush, but then it’ll work like a charm! Seriously made a furnado, lol.
