I change the oil in my 2002 7.3 excursion every 5000 miles. So this works awesome. I Also work on heavy equipment with this style drain and it off 20 years of working on these things I've only had to replace one. For use on a car this week outlast the life of the engine. Ball valve works great and seems well built.

Love this valve. I have always had problems with oil drain plugs leaking on my trucks. Unless something is wrong with your oil pan this valve will not leak a drop. It makes oil changes a breeze, no more hot oil running all over you hands and dropping the plug into the bucket. The worst thing you have to deal with on the 7.3 oil change is the filter now. I have had it for a while now and have not had any premature opening of the valve. It is probably only going to open if someone does it intentionally.

I drive a 7.3 Ford Excursion. I ordered this because it is cheaper for me to pay a company to change my oil than it is for me to do it myself...That being said, I am paranoid about some dimwit over tightening my drain plug causing a nightmare for me. In my truck it is hours of labor to replaced the oil pan, so it is not something I ever want to worry about... enter the Fumoto drain plug.This thing works great, a simple lift of the lever and twist to fully open it, no more removing a bolt to drain and and having to worry about someone overtightening it on re-install... also if you do your own oil changes, NO MORE WRENCH COVERED IN OIL or dropped drain plug!

If you change your oil as I do in my Ford Super Duty F-250 6.0L, this is a must have item. I just installed it and haven't had a chance to drain my oil with this valve yet but I have used a Fumoto valve to do a coolant flush and it is terrific. This will certainly help me perform oil changes in the future. I love that you can easily open and close the valve during the oil change and I can control the flow coming out of the pan. I don't see any leaks since the install and I'm very happy with it thus far. I hope to not have to clean up oil off the garage floor anymore. I'm also assuming I can drain the oil directly into containers vice drip pan, which will make dealing with the spent oil much easier.

Changing you oil is important. You should do it often. You should make sure not to loose you drain plug, get it on loose or strip it out. So why not put a valve on it? Well maybe you should. I did..I put this on my 2008 F350. It works great. And I'll be putting on on my wife's car on the next oil change. I plan on putting these on every vehicle I own and maintain. They work. It just makes changing the oil a little easier and cleaner. I wish I would have known about these a few years ago. Any car manufacturer that reads this, why not just build this into cars?

I have now used this product twice and it has held up to all of my expectations. Typically for the ford powerstroke oil pans, the copper washers in the factory plug get warped over time and without replacement, oil seeps past. This product eliminates that completely. No more worrying about replacing copper washers.Sure, it takes a minute or two longer to drain out the oil as compared to the factory plug (smaller drain opening), but the cleanliness and convenience more than makes up for it. No more worrying about rounding off the drain plug or having to use a wrench to change the oil. It makes this a much easier process.It is also perfect for taking oil samples for oil and engine analysis. Another bonus I have used to my advantage.
