This air conditioner does not cool well at all. The air coming out of it isn't as cool as it should be. Too much trouble to return it.

We have a large old house with an open downstairs layout. For years, we have had one large room air conditioner and then used large fans to pull the air to other parts of the downstairs, but this never cooled off the kitchen which is 2 large rooms away. So when Prime Days came around, we took advantage of a great deal to purchase this quality product and put it in the window nearest to the other parts of the downstairs. This was a particularly scorching summer at times and our old methods weren't cooling off the downstairs well enough during those extreme heat warning stints. This air conditioner is ridiculously easy to set up (actually made me realize how I put the one in my bedroom together incorrectly, without looking at the directions) and wasn't too heavy to lift up to put into a 6-foot high kitchen window--even for this person with a bad back. The unit fits 95% perfectly into the window and the old, uneven windows of our 140-year-old home likely are to blame for that. The noise is truly minimal for what it does. And the remote control is very simple and easy for my senior mother to use, instead of having to use the buttons on the unit. I love that it is eco friendly and that it won't use expensive energy when we don't need it.Lastly, I will say that I am sure it will work beyond great if you use it for just one closed-off room. However, people like us who need to cool off more than that area, I can say that it does cool strong enough that you can use a fan to pull the air to another room. Since adding this conditioner to the kitchen, the downstairs has been overall very pleasant despite the latest extreme heat stint. And I'm not overly concerned about the next electric bill as I know it helped use other forms of cooling less overall. We purchased this under a great deal but I would say it is well worth the expense and future savings for you to buy it at full price!

So it's cold, on fan. Whether it is high or low, it makes a lot of noise but it does cool and fulfills its function.

I bought this to help augment my main unit, and it does the job. It keeps the living area cool and I was able to turn my main unit up a degree to save money. It is somewhat loud, I'll grant you, but it blows very cold and very hard for a 6000 BTU unit. I'm satisfied.

I live in a block house with no AC and we just entered a two week heatwave with temps in triple digits with expected highs approaching 110 so I ordered this little guy to help keep inside cooler and help me sleep. The unit is not big. It is too heavy, but not lite. Was pretty easy to install, and has definitely helped keep the house a little cooler, and the bedroom where it is installed cold. I am still figuring out what to set it on during the day vs night, but will easy to use controls on the unit itself, and a simple to use remote as well, it's been extremely easy to play around with and adjust.Only downside is it's not exactly quiet, but I can put up with a little noise in order to not melt.

I bought this knowing it was undersized for my 576 sq.ft. garage but it was the biggest one that fits in the window I have. The louver kit to fill the side spaces was too big to use, I could cut it down but I just used 3" strips of high density foam I happened to have. For the last couple of days it has been keeping the insulated garage 5 degrees colder than the outside, it took a couple of hours to get it there but it doesn't seem to have trouble maintaining it. It defaults to Eco mode, which shuts it off when it reaches the set temp and then turns on every 10 minutes to check the temperature. I shut this off when I'm in there because I want a constant flow of air, it works well when you're not there. The unit remembers your settings when you unplug it, which is great if you are using it with a smart plug, only Eco Mode resets, that will always come back on. According to my Peanut Plug, it pulls 60w when running just the fan, 350-370w when running the compressor maintaining temp and 450-480w when it was cooling down the space 5 degrees. This unit seems to use the water it condenses to splash the condenser, which is a good idea but it does make a bit of noise, especially as the fan is slowing down, you hear what sounds like running water, the manual says this is normal. There is A LOT of water in the tray, you have to make sure not to tip the unit forward in your window. I definitely would not want to risk leaving this unit out too long in the fall, it will freeze. Removing it from the window is probably going to involve dumping a few cups of water on myself because there is no drain plug and it specifically says in the manual not to attempt to drill one or it voids the warranty. I'm knocking a star off for this because that seems like an oversight. On my unit there was one small crack in the styrofoam fan shroud which I don't think will affect performance. Considering how bad the delivery guy beat the box up I was surprised there were no dents. Amazon: Stop putting heavy boxes with straps inside bigger, flimsier boxes people can't carry!

Spent 2 hours installing securely in window only to find that it only blows outside warm air into room. Cooling doesn’t work. Tried all the trouble shooting but it appears defective. Now I see lots of other reviews complaining about the same issue.

If you are replacing an older window air conditioner, this new AC unit has some unexpected operating modes, which might lead you to suspect that it’s defective. For example, when first plugged in and turned on, it’ll start up in a default mode, with the “Eco” feature enabled, the “Cool” mode selected, the fan speed set at “Auto”, and the set point temperature set at “70” (degF). According to the “Quick Reference Guide”, that’s all there is to getting things going … just turn it on. However, with these settings, the machine will cool the room temperature to 70 degF, then turn its refrigeration system off, but not the blower. The blower will then continue to run for several minutes to ensure that the room temperature is, indeed, at or below the set point, and then it too will be turned off. Every ten minutes thereafter, the blower will come on again and run for two minutes to recheck the room temperature. If it has risen to a value above the set point, the refrigeration system will be enabled, otherwise the blower will just turn off and wait another ten minutes. For places where this repetitive temperature rechecking cycling isn’t noticeable, and/or the ambient temperature is ordinarily always higher than the desired room temperature, this feature might make sense. But if the unit is being used in a bedroom with a light sleeper, the blower being switched on and off every ten minutes is more likely to be a disturbing nuisance. Furthermore, in areas where evening temperatures ordinarily drop below the desired room temperature, providing for natural whole-house cooling, this ten-minute temperature check cycling will apparently go on and on forever, until sometime in late morning when the outdoors temperature has increased enough to elevate the indoors temperatures. In our case, here in Michigan, it wouldn’t ordinarily be very useful, and when I heard the unit switching on and off every few minutes, I suspected that it was short-cycling (a refrigeration system fault), and I was pretty sure I was going to have to return it. But then I decided to study the user manual first … finding that everything actually seemed to work just as described in the manual. The way to avoid the above nonsense is to merely turn the unit on, select the “Cool” mode and set the fan speed at “Auto”, with everything else turned off (especially the “Eco” feature). Then the unit runs like a conventional window air conditioner, with the blower going full-time, and the refrigeration system cycling on and off as needed to regulate the temperature. Same old story … if all else fails, try reading the manual.
