I love this AC. Every summer for 2 years now, I have it installed in my bedroom window. (take it out in Fall)This works great, love the remote. Room feels like a little fridge (thanks Frigidaire)Best money spent and my bill is affordable too! Energy Saver really works! Great product! I fully endorse!

The device is very noisy. When it starts again the noise is infernal. Impossible to sleep when it works.I'm really disappointed for a supposedly silent device.

First off the positive as it far outweighs anything negative. I just got this today and it was super easy to install. I was able to manage getting it my window by myself, but I live in a single story home so if you aren't, it definitely wouldn't hurt getting someone to help.I play video games in my bedroom that is roughly 13x11, and the problem is that my computer is like a furnace for my room. The rest of the house is fine, but needed something to help keep my bedroom cool while playing games. This cooler is very fast and doesn't have any issues cooling down my room. For noise, it honestly isn't that bad. I wish it was a little bit quieter, but I don't have many issues with noise when going to sleep as it sounds like white noise. I would say it sounds like two tower fans blowing on high.The only thing I didn't care for was the weather proofing. I wish I had a picture when it was sunny before I did my weatherproofing. The accordion style gap fillers that come with the unit don't go completely to the top or bottom and I was worried bugs would crawl right into the room. I was able to use some rope caulk which worked wonder in getting into the small gaps along with weatherseal tape to ensure cold air stayed in and the hot air/bugs stayed out.Overall, with the price, you can't beat this air conditioner.

I had gotten a portable ac unit that melted my wall outlet and just about cried when I had to unplug it due to fire hazard. Had to go shopping for a window unit I could install by myself. Based on reviews, and knowing Frigidaire is a good brand, I went with this 6000 btu window unit.Where I live it is HOT. I mean the fires of hell hot, relentless heat for days in a row during summer, and even with my backup ac, could only get my house to 83 when it was 106 outside. Still on the warm side for us.I wanted more btus, but I also have to be able to lift it. Well this little beauty works like a champ. Was worried about what condition it would be in because I saw a lot of reviews showing damaged units from shipping. Feel like I got lucky because mine arrived in perfect condition. Awesome. This unit weighs 40 pounds so I was able to lift it carefully and install it. Now, how does it cool?The room was 84 when I was able to finally turn it on. The fan on high doesn’t blow too far, but then again it’s a small fan. The air coming out is very cold though. I put a good fan in front of it to throw the cool air further, and watched the temp start going down. Woke up this morning to a very comfy 75.It is also very quiet. A lot of people complained about the noise but I had to go over there and check it was still on it’s so quiet. I absolutely love this little cooler. Best part is, my outlet is nice and cool too. No warm wall, no fire hazard. Thank goodness we will survive the summer, and so will my house. Please be careful of portable ac units, if you have one, please check your wall outlet for damage or excessive heat as that is a fire hazard. I just do not understand why people don’t talk about that serious danger of portable units. Keep cool, and keep safe friends!

Received and installed this A/C in my bedroom two weeks ago. The first week of use I was pretty disappointed as it didn't seem to really cool my bedroom (a 17x10 with a large two-door closet and adjoining bath) as some of the other reviewers have noted.On the second week, a hotter week here in Florida, I decided to switch some things up. I turned off Eco & Auto Mode, setting it to Cool w/ fan speed at Medium and desired temperature 68 and at night, when in use, closed the two doors of the closet. Now, we were chilling things out! While it never gets down to an actual 68 per the thermostat on the remote, it does get nice blanket-needing cold in my room, which is just what I want.Best of all though, I was worried about this really low setting on non-eco mode would hurt my overall energy bill. Not at all. My electric company offers day-by-day monitoring and the last week has seen no increases in electricity used (i have in fact reduced my overall electric use this last week compared to the one before probably bc i was relying too much on an inefficient unit in my living room).My one complaint now is the remote. I hate how it doesn't have a backlight, why would you make an AC remote without a backlight? It also doesn't tell you what settings you are adjusting to. There are just arrows and so to see what you're doing, you have to be looking at the face of the unit, which in my situation is not possible from where I'm at on the bed. This made that first week particularly annoying as it required turning on the light, guessing on some controls, then getting up to look. A minor inconvenience but don't offer a remote if it's not going to be especially useful. that's why this is ultimately a 4 and not a 5 star.
