This AC is just what my family needed! Dealing with 95* degree weather or hotter and insane humidity is almost unbearable some days, we've been having issues with are central AC unit and found out it would cost thousands of dollars to fix or replace. So, we got this AC to put in the living room to combat the heat. So far, it's been great, it cools the living room with easy, on top of cooling the kitchen as well since we have an open floor plan. It gets so cold we actually have to turn it down a bit. Installation wasn't great, but to be expected with such a massive window unit, this thing is HEAVY! But I've installed plenty of window units in the past and I'd say installation is on par with those. The unit can get a tad noisy, but not abnormally loud. Overall, I really like it, and would recommend!

I didn't install or set up the app, so I can't say how well that works, but I can say that getting this in place in my window was rough by myself.It is as loud as expected, but not overwhelmingly so. Cooling down the room was pretty quick, and I could swap it to FSN mode to keep it circulating. No idea how much the energy usage is going to be, but somewhat interested to see how it goes.I wouldn't recommend it for a vertical window that slides left and right, you might get it to work, but I doubt it. The front plate definitely feels flimsy, but it didn't break when I got it into my window.The filter is easy to remove and clean.

LG makes some of the best home electronics in the world. Their AC units are also this same high quality and since it's a well known brand, you know the warranty will be honored if ever needed. This is definitely something to consider as the compressors on these AC units do sometimes fail. This is rated at 12k btu, but 550ft of coverage, meaning it can handle a large open room on it's own. It also has smart control, so you can use your phone or even Alexa - no worrying about keeping track of the remote. The unit itself blows hard and is a little loud on highest setting, but its as expected for a window unit with 550ft of coverage.

This 12,000 BTU unit efficiently cools my 550 sq. ft. space with ease.I love the Wi-Fi capability, which allows me to control it remotely, making it convenient to adjust settings from anywhere in the house. It's also surprisingly quiet compared to other units I've had, which is a big plus for a peaceful environment. I ordered this AC unit for my living room, and it's been quite easy to use, with simple controls and not too many complicated settings. The remote works well, and connecting the unit to the LG ThinQ app was straightforward. You need to press the Mode and Fan speed buttons simultaneously to put the unit in WiFi mode, which is mentioned in the user manual—otherwise, you might not know how to do it. The unit cools the room effectively.As noted in another review, the front cover can be a bit tricky to keep in place. It feels somewhat flimsy, and I was concerned that pressing too hard might break it. I ended up using tape to secure the cover more firmly. The unit is quite heavy, being 12,000 BTU, so you'll need help to lift and install it in a window. Not all windows are the same, so while installation was fairly easy with assistance, it could be a bit tricky depending on the type of window you have.

Terrible Engineering, plastic tabs on the front control unit that wouldn't snap into place on the thin malleable aluminum case, sill supports that required taking the entire internal assembly out of case to install them, as well as guides for the plastic curtains needing to be attached to the case on the inside. Three hours to get this beast installed in the Window, and I'll still need to go to the hardware store for more insulation. What was supplied was nowhere near enough. LG LW1224RSMX
