I own and operate a woodworking business and frequently use Forstner bits in my drill press. I use the 3/8 bit the most frequently. When that bit wore out the last time, I purchased a replacement at the local hardware store and I was not pleased with it. I bought this Freud bit as a replacement, and its performance has been excellent, exactly what I expect from a Freud product. It produces a clean hole, with no tearout.

It’s a Freud! Pretty much sums it up. Top quality. Would purchase again. If you plan on using more than a few times don’t “skimp”! Buy a Freud. You’ll be glad you did.

These cut through wood like a hot knife through butta! Size is accurate and they hold and edge! Well worth the money!

We use these in the shop on a daily basis, and clean them after each use. They usually last about a year a bit if we maintain them, and still drill an accurate and clean hole until the end. Great bit for a good price.

I stocked up on a variety of Kreg screws. I use them for everything that doesn’t absolutely require another screw. I’ve been using a 3/8” Forster bit to countersink holes. This allows me to patch the hole to hide the screw if I’m painting the piece. I can also fine tune the depth to match the screws on hand to the workpiece. My old porter cable bit was getting dull so I picked up this Freud bit. Wow, huge improvement. This cuts like butter. I’ve used it on hardwired, softwoods and uhmw. It cuts much faster than my old bit ever did. I’ll be replacing my other forstner bits with Freud as needed.

blade was all mangled when I got it. What I would expect of a cheap knockoff, not a Freud "precision" bit.
