A very well made caliper, tight, accurate and comfortable. I would say it's worth more than the cost compared to higher priced calipers yet does the same job. Excellent tool

I've worked in quality for over 20 years. And, I've used allot of precise measuring equipment. I wanted a new set of calipers for reloading but didn't want to pay $100 plus for a good set that would last. I've used Fowlers before. But, never expected this set for under $40 to so well built! It's a great heavy set that is very consistent. Great buy!!!

Arrived in a better quality case than others I've had. The caliper was already zeroed out of the box. I checked the accuracy by measuring a 1 x 2 x 3 setup block,of which I had checked the 1" with a Starrett 0-1 mic that measure to 0.0001" and the Fowler calipers measured exactly the same when using a magnifying glass. This caliper is very accurate if you know how to use it properly. They even included very good directions for people that don't know how to use it. I'm very pleased with it.

I use Starrett at work. For home, it's mostly woodworking, so I don't need Starrett. But these are quite nice calipers. Easy to read. Solid zero. No slop. The plastic storage case is super nice. The caliper that I received is slightly different from the product photo - mine has a blue bezel and blue "Fowler" logo as shown in the attached. A touch of class if anything.Worth the money for this tool. Automatic loss of one star as it is made in China.

I have used micrometers for over 30 years. At one time in my career I taught proper use of precision measuring instruments to union workers in a high precision machine shop. There are better quality products on the market and you probably know the brand names. The Fowler is a great product for the price. I bought it for my daughter who is a school teacher that teaches technical subjects to her students. She uses the Fowler in her class to teach precision measuring to her students. It has worked flawlessly for her despite being utilized by many unskilled students.

Accurate, typical Fowler quality. Not much else to say except that it's pretty rugged too. I previously had a Craftstman dial caliperthat wore out and was replaced with a lesser known brand, digital caliper. The digital caliper was problematic, often needing a second reading to feel confident about the first and batteries had short life as caliper was stored in a cold garage. I went back to this dial and like it a lot. It's always accurate and after several months of use it's a pleasure to take it out, measure something once and put it back feeling confident the reading was correct. My Craftsman caliper was nearly 40 years old. This caliper appears to be of equal or better quality so I expect many years of service from it.One note: Many of the sales sites show this caliper is a sturdy, heavy plastic case with cushioned liner. The case supplied is a actually a more flexible, look-through plastic with plastic lining. The lining is the type of plastic that after a few years cracks and falls apart. You also need two hands to open the case, an inconvenience that I don't like.

I had been using my central tools caliper for the past 16 years. For the first 6 years I had it I used it when I was a mechanic and then for the past 10 years it had been used for my reloading hobby. I've tried other calipers and never liked the way they felt so I kept going back to my central tools caliper. It stopped holding zero and I had no choice but to replace it. I wasn't sure how I would like this but based on some of the other reviews I ordered it and I'm surprised at how much I like it. It has a tight but smooth feel to it and feels like it was put together very well. I've set it down a little harder than I should have a couple of times and its held its zero without issue. For my reloading needs its plenty accurate and I think I made a good choice. If I was going to fault it for anything it would be that I think the box it comes in should be nicer and have more padding.

These things are really fantastic. The action is smooth, no lash in the gears and looks great. The case works well and seems like it will last a lifetime with careful handling. As with any precision instrument, I make sure it isn't going to fall, no it's box. I see nothing about these dial calipers that is not perfect quality. I haven't tested the "shockproofness," neither am I going to let that happen. Well worth the $30! I would have paid $50. This was a 2-beer-sip review.
