I have never done any repairs to ANY digital equipment in my life so this was a life saver. Our options were to get rid of our 2015 ipad or attempt repair since Apple's cost to repair was ridiculously expensive. Frankly, the original ipad screen is difficult to remove and saving the original fingerprint button is difficult, so I was very happy that this product came with its own button already in place and works great [but does not recognize the fingerprint]. I don't need this feature and hence happy with the purchase since most apps have already gone to face ID, I think this feature is not needed. The screen has good adhesive and I did not need to add more tape or adhesive. Glass is of good quality and touch screen works great. The only difficult part is taking the original ipad screen off. Do see a few youtube videos to see the installation steps since it will help you a lot. Wear eye protection and gloves to avoid any injuries during original glass removal. This product helped me save a lot of money than giving it for repairs to apple or repair shop. We have used it for about a month now and everything working great.

Never done this before. Tips: Don’t panic when you get a box with ZERO instructions, not even a website reference. I guess they figure if you can’t figure out how to use what has been shipped then you don’t need to be attempting this repair. Don’t panic - YouTube has your back, after watching a few different videos you will find this is an excellent kit. The tools supplied are perfect, especially the metal bar, and the black pick and push stick. Key things to pay particularly close attention too that doesn’t get addressed in videos is reattaching the glass flat cables. You just have to make sure the two cables that push in are aligned before pushing them down and set, just use fingertip to apply pressure till they seat. The third cable make sure the clasp is open and use pusher to seat it under the clamp, I had to push it a little to get it under the clamp. To clean the old adhesive I used acetone, goo gone, t-shirt swatches and the metal and plastic pick. Once completely clean, the new one stuck just wonderfully, looks factory. Be sure before you stick the glass the cable slack at the hinge point is tucked and doesn’t get pinched between the case groove and the glass. When sticking the glass concentrate on the button alignment and not pinching the glass cables and the rest of it will fall right in place. After completing it I realized the kit is great. Having the pre applied adhesive is so much easier and with this kit you can ignore the button removal from the old one, also nice.Update: I have found the fingerprint recognition doesn’t work with this new button. Everything else seems fins so far.

See latest edit at bottom for details on 1 star rating.1st installationInitially... this seemed to be a mostly viable affordable solution despite visible imperfections and 'wavy-ness' in the screen. With close attention to instructional videos I found online I completed the repair in a relatively straightforward and anal-retentive manner that took me about 3.5 hours. Everything seemed to go according to plan. However when I was completely done I noticed the glue along the right side edge of the screen did not fully adhere and there is discernable movement when I press on that edge despite ensuring I had cleaned away any old glue and made sure the screen fit in properly before exposing the adhesives and fixing it into place. I attempted to apply consistent, even pressure overnight with some books and a heavy stapler to keep the screen edge in contact overnight but it didn't solve the problemFor the moment everything functions as needed but that movement along the right edge of the screen has me worried it will eventually work it's easy loose and I'll have to install another screen (a process I'm not anxious to repeat).I will update my review as things progress. Honestly, if it doesn't get any worse and continues to function properly for another few months, I'll add another star.Edit:I added an additional star since, upon hearing my concerns, the company sent me a replacement. I have not yet installed the newer one mostly due to a lack of time. However, while there is an area (near the button cable junction) that remains loose, it has not gotten worse.Another problem I have had which I cannot necessarily attribute to the replacement screen is that my iPad now seems excessively sensitive to case cover magnets which tell it when the cover is closed/opened (on multiple models).Edit: I removed 3 stars after the 1st screen began reporting phantom touches all the time making the iPad unusable. The replacement screen's glue was worse than than the first, the camera cutout is in the wrong place and entire screen keeps moving around and trying falling out while FaceTimeing. And the ghost touch problem returned.I'm going to try a different brand.

Dropped my ipad 5th generation 128gb ($299 from costco) on the power button edge, screen cracked and power button seized up. Initially ordered another touch screen digitizer that cracked right out of the box. This one was awesome. By the way, i consider myself a excellent diy person, but never messed with an iPad or similar electronic. This product was great righ out of the box( regret not making a video), the Phillips screwdriver was the right size and magnetic. The touchscreen had pre-glued on strips. Disposable wipes were ok, but i had to use a microfiber cloth to clean the lcd screen before final installation. The home button doesn't support fingerprint, so i warmed up the bracket holding the preinstalled one on, removed it, and slipped it my old one.Overall I found everything to be just what's needed.I had to remove power button, sand it down a little, scraped off glue from inside edges where old touchscreen was, followed YouTube videos. For $24, I saved $250 what apple was asking for touchscreen ( not to mention the power button problem)
