Why do you need fake eggs?
1.Excessive egg production can easily lead to the loss of calcium in female birds and even failure to give birth. If you want a female bird to lay fewer eggs, the easiest way is to let it hatch by itself. If the female bird lays the first egg, it will lay the second and third eggs. We need to put a fake egg every day, and the female will stop laying eggs before they are finished. Realistic fake eggs can successfully deceive the female bird, making it much less than before.
2.It can also adjust the shelling time of the eggs to keep them as consistent as possible to avoid too large differences in the body shape of the young birds and increase the difficulty of feeding.Take love birds as an example. During the breeding period, one egg is laid in about two days. Generally, 4-5 eggs are laid in a nest. The incubation period is about 20 days. The first chick hatched within two days after hatching, so that the difference between the first and fifth chicks would be about 8-10 days. The first chick with a difference of so many days is already very big in size within a few days of birth. It's easy to trample the younger brother and sister born later to death or because of starvation. We can secretly replace the false eggs with the fake eggs when laying each egg, gather together a nest, and then take out the false eggs and replace the real eggs. At the same time, let the female birds hatch, so that the birds will shell out at the same time and grow up with the same size.

The eggs were the perfect size for our Cockatiel.

Our birds didn't accept these at first, but as I slowly replaced hers with these one at a time, she decided to sit on them instead. Good size and weight, color a little whiter than our bird's eggs (but that could vary from one hen to another). Very slight seam where the plastic molds meet; perhaps that was what caused her to ignore them at first.

Used these for our cockatiel to stop laying eggs and they worked perfect. The size and appearance was nearly the exact same

If you have female cockatiel and she lays eggs, the only thing you need to do to stop her is increase the duration of sleep/darkness. Minimum of 12 hours maximum 14 hours. Preferably in a quiet room with no interruptions. My birds wouldn’t stop laying, from spring to fall, even with these fake eggs.As soon as I set up second cage in spare bedroom and put them on 12.5-13 hour dark sleep (w nightlight) they both stopped and haven’t acted hormonal since. These eggs are not what you want as it doesn’t stop the hormonal cycle, the fake eggs only pacify the bird for a short time.I bought these thinking it would stop my birds who both laid eggs last summer, but it didn’t, only short term. You have to stop the hormonal cycle which is determined by light duration… good luck

I can't believe. They worked I wish. I listened to my son. .and got them after the first egg arrived. To my amazement. She. Rejected the decoys. And quit laying after the fourth..I felt so sad and helpless.. as this. Laying eggs was wearing. Her down . I should have started at the beginning ..I had a male that's what we were sold. By breeders. I was stunned that evening. To see an egg. Along side him. Big adjustment. For me to start saying good. Girl now. In six months I'll be prepared. And ready if this happens again.thank you so much . Remember.. Amazon. Has anything you may possibly need.

We got this product previously but we stored it wrong and it molded that's why I bought another set. The size is a little bit bigger than my cockatiel's egg but the dummy eggs worked and made her think it's actually her eggs. Good buy overall.

Purchased after our 2 year old cockatiel began laying eggs. Vet recommended taking precautions to prevent her from laying often or even ever again because it is quite risky for cockatiels to get an egg stuck while trying to lay. One of the recommended ways to help prevent is by placing false eggs inside her cage near the original spot she laid her first ones. These feel very realistic- same weight, texture and shade of white as the ones our bird laid so very easy to use to trick her into believing she already laid enough.

They are slightly bigger than my cockatiel’s eggs, hoping she doesn’t notice. Other than that good quality, nice (accurate) weight to them.Update: she is definitely fooled. She’s rolling eggs everyday and keeping an eye on anyone when they go near her box. She believes they’re her babies. She stopped laying too. Perfect.

These eggs are so similar in shape/size and coloration to my GCC's first egg that I had to give a review the same day I received them in the mail. They are substantial, too - sturdy little things that won't wear out any time soon.My husband has already swapped out the egg with Church's real egg, and she seems none the wiser 4 hours later. For anyone wondering, we decided to order these to avoid any potential issues that can occur with egg laying, especially with this being her (and our) first time around. I'm so happy with the quality and item count for the price.I have to add that delivery being next day is fantastic because we (naively?) hoped that we'd get to skip that "becoming a lady" part although we have 2 female GCCs... but now we have enough fake eggs to swap multiple clutches if Church's "sister" starts laying as well!

A++ These were fantastic!!! They are weighted and smooth. I definitely recommend!! They are worth every penny! I previously bought a couple cheap versions elsewhere that were hollow light and had rough seams which were completely useless. I bought these and keep them on hand as they worked great!!. These eggs have a solid weight to them and are smooth. They closely mimick my birds eggs. My Green cheek conure excepted them with no issues. Each time she laid an egg I replaced it with a fake egg. I let her sit on the fake eggs until she gave up on them on her own, then I removed a fake egg, one a day until they were gone. She stopped laying. I bought the conure size they were a bit bigger than my conures eggs but they were the closest size next to her natural eggs. The next size down was way too small so i recommend getting the size they recommended.I would definitely recommend! Im so glad i have them on hand so if shes starts laying again i can add, replace as necessary.

These are to keep your small female birds from overlaying eggs and getting egg bound which is vey dangerous and life threatening. I don’t remember if it came with exact directions or not but please look up how to properly use them. If your female lays an egg do NOT remove it. As she has her eggs you will slowly substitute a real egg for one of these imitation eggs, if you took her eggs away she will lay more which will be very taxing on her body. Let her keep sitting on the eggs until she decides that they are not going to hatch and leaves them alone and then you can remove all the imitation eggs and save them for when it happens again. The real eggs are not viable. Females will lay eggs without mating. These are used for a cockatiel. An extra tip; if your bird ever becomes “egg bound”, meaning they can not pass an egg and it is stuck NEVER try to remove the egg as it will crack inside of her. Put some olive or coconut oil around the area and get her to your avian vet immediately. So I recommend that you DEFINITELY buy these eggs for the SAFETY of your bird. It could be life or death for real. If people who care buy these Amazon should be constantly having to restock. Enjoy your feathered friends, Amazon customers!
