I had a spinning carriage bolt after installing new toilet and a new flange. Could not tighten bolt as I know you only snug down the hold down bolts. This tool held the bolt from spinning from the bottom, then moved the tool to the top of bolt. Was able to tighten toilet to the flange.

A simple tool that works like a charm. The nut on my toilet bolt was screwed on pretty tight so it took a little effort to get the bar underneath the washer. I used a flathead screwdriver as a wedge to raise it up then slid the jam bar under. Once it was in,I used a the socket wrench to get the nut off and that required little to no effort.

Had a nut that was frozen to a closet bolt on my toilet (both spun together no matter what I did to try to separate them). Saw this tool in an online video and decided to give it a shot. Received package tonight, inserted tool under the washer and nut, then lifted firmly while turning wrench. Nut came loose.

This does the trick. I had a contemporary toilet install that did not have room for a pair of vice grips to grab the top of a spinning toilet attachment bolt. This, with a ratcheting box end, worked efficiently and well. It also did not mar the threads. Good tool -- right price.

Bought these for a toilet replacement but found I could not force the tool to get under the nut to grab the bolt which would allow me to screw off the nut. If you have the room to position the tool right up against the bolt this will probably work quite well. Otherwise it's back to the Sawzall.

Seems to run the risk of the teeth wearing out so I'd use this in a pinch rather than expect it function over and over in a pro setting. If things are spinning it might be the only way to grab it so even if it only works a couple times it might be worth it.

I did 2 toilets. One of them worked but the other one did not work and had to buy dremmel to cut the bolt. But you can always try out with this tool first to see if it will work.
