Works for a short period of time. We have already needed to replace this ring a few times, but ultimately, it works fine until you hear running water again. Seal could use a little upgrade to ensure it fits better with the overall toilet unit. Slight leakage, but manageable.

These do not come with an O-ring to replace the old one on the black nut. It is just as important as the Big Round Washer. This is not the sellers fault.

Have the American Standard Champion 4. The toilet would keep refilling. After looking at it, the water in the tank would drain into the bowl until it dropped a couple of inches, then it would refill.I watched the one posted video review and followed the instructions. So easy, and just as the video said, the seal had bubbled up and it no longer held a tight seal.It took less than 5 minutes to replace.

Have read forums where American Standard suggests only their seals work long term but Fluidmaster is a reliable company. Only problem readers should be aware of is that once the flappper is unscrewed the centre rod can slip through its centre notched retainer down into the lower tank necessitating removal of the tank to retrieve this part . Otherwise this seal have given me a nice quiet tank.

Maybe 6 months after I purchased our American Standard Champion toilet, the toilet started with the "phantom flushes" that everyone complains about. I replaced the original silicon flush valve seal with these replacement seals but sure enough, after a few weeks, the phantom flushes started again. I tried everything - 1 seal, 2 seals, a rubber seal, a combination of a rubber seal and silicone seal. Nothing worked for more than a a few days.Basically, the American Standard Champion toilet is a piece of junk. I don't know who at American Standard thought it was a good idea to get rid of the tried and true flapper that every other toilet uses. After doing some research, I purchased the NuFlush replacement flush valve: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B69QW7YM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1Replacement was fairly easy. The only issue was loosening the original 4 inch hex nut (most toilets have a 3 inch hex nut - make sure you have a wrench big enough). But since the installation, the phantom flushes have stopped! I highly recommend biting the bullet and replacing your Champion flush valve rather than buying flush valve seal after flush valve seal. Good luck!
