✪ With the included lubricant and sealant, you don't need to purchase a large tube when you only need a very little amount. Use sparingly as you only need a super fine film. If you use too much it can clog injectors or water paths. Don't use sealants not intended for water treatment systems as they may dry out the seals and orings causing cracks and leaks in the future.

✪ If you are changing any vale parts, you should also change the seals as they can get wear grooves from damaged parts. This kit includes all the seals and pistons to rebuild a Fleck style 5600 water softener control valve. Complete with additional lubricant and sealant for any and all orings.

✪ For information on how to repair your 5600 control valve, please find how-to videos on YouTube.

This worked great for my Aquafine water softener. I replace a leaking piston and seals very easily.. I do not that some people of YouTube say not to use the lubricant/sealer that comes with it. I used it as in my opinion it would help seal better. But VERY sparingly.

Had a small water leak from old gasket shrinkage. This kit was super easy to install and they even supply you with silicone lube to complete the installation. I sure am happy to find replacement parts for this 18 year old unit

I have needed to rebuild my Fleck 5600 softener head for a long time but was under the impression that you needed special tools to remove the main seals and spacers. I purchased this kit, and it could not have been easier. One mistake I made was with the O-ring on the brine piston. When you remove the brine piston, there is an O-ring in the valve body at the bottom. I removed the O-ring without incident; however, I placed the new O-ring supplied with the kit on the bottom of the brine plunger before pushing the plunger into place. You MUST place the O-ring back into the bottom of the valve body, and NOT on the brine piston. Make sure the O-ring seats evenly into place. In my case, when I pushed the piston in place, in slightly nicked the O-ring not allowing for a good seal in the valve body. At first everything seemed fine, but I noticed after the softener would cycle, my brine tank would slowly start filling with water until the float would shut off the water valve. After some research online, the problem is with that O-ring not sealing properly, usually due to people putting the O-ring on the brine plunger and not into the valve body first. After taking the Fleck head apart again, I was able to remove the brine plunger and use my old O-ring. After reinstalling, with the O-ring in the valve first, my problem was solved and now everything functions like new.Hope this helps.

According to videos online, the green piston head is for the SXT electronic control head. White piston is for the manual control head. Pistons are not interchangeable. The product description seems to indicate the color is irrelevant.

The softener at a rental property was not properly drawing brine during a regeneration, which eventually caused the brine tank to overflow. I tore apart the brine tank, and also disassembled the injector components, and could really find nothing wrong. Ordering this kit was a last-ditch effort. Thankfully, it got the softener working again. It had been actually putting water into the tank during the brine draw, but once I replaced the main valve and brine valve with the parts in this kit, I got suction again. To see if the problem is in your resin tank, take the brine tube off of the brine tank and stick it in a bucket of water. You should feel suction during the BD portion of the regeneration cycle.I should note that it can be very tricky to get the main valve to completely seat. The first time I assembled it, I tried to screw on the top plate to compress the valve into the body, but it only went partway in and I was afraid to tighten the screws too hard (if it is properly assembled, you should not have to torque them hard to get the main piston all the way in). I must have disassembled and reassembled all of the valve seal components into the body at least a half-dozen times before I got them all seated properly. It helps to just put in each rubber seal and run your fingernail all around the edge to make sure it is seated properly, then drop in one of the plastic pieces and make sure it seats against the rubber seal. Keep doing this, and when everything is properly in place the largest diameter ring on your main piston should be sitting at least halfway into the control valve body before you start trying to screw the top plate on. Apparently my stack-up was not quite properly seated the many times I tried to assemble it into the body. Just be patient, and do not even attempt to screw the top cover on unless the outer ring of the piston is about halfway down into the body just from using your hand to push it down.

The replacement parts for my Fleck 5600 did a great job resolving my Water softener issues.I was getting salt building up in the softener after the recharge cycle so I purchased these parts to repair the issue. I was able to replace the parts in less than 1-hour with my limited plumbing knowledge and watching a few YouTube videos. Once I got the parts placed, I ran a recharge cycle and now my water softener is working much better than before.I recommend this product but only to someone who is confident in doing more complicated plumbing themselves or has a plumber who will do the job for them.

It does the job, BUT ... they don't include the O-rings for the brine tank water supply tube filter ...
