I used this 3" Five Pears to make a rack for MAPP GAs canister and other items. I Used a 280 RPM speed as hats slowest my drill press goes. Its a good brand for special sizes or as a beginner set.

The actual bits are nice(r), perhaps one of the better ones I've used but I didn't use each one yet. They appear to be solidly made, and the wooden organizing box is a nice plus when everything can be "pre-organized" in your toolchest as it's not like most people are using their forstner bits every day.But like the other reviewer had mentioned, they come all messed up in the box: opening it up, it's not neat and clean but rather the bits are all over the inside of the box. No, they aren't damaged and (yes) to spend 10 minutes with a caliper to organize them is the easiest fix. But seriously - for the price, these shouldn't have a sub-par packaging issue. There are $20 sets from Harbor Freight which also do the job (and they even come organized! Albeit the bits will last you 2-3 times).I hope that the sellers/manufacturers just either put a piece of tape over them or something so that they stay put via transport. Why is this so important? Back to the price: I bought these hoping to quickly use them on a project I'm working on, instead, I spent some of my morning organizing something that should have already been so!

I drilled 22 holes with this bit, 1 1/2" deep in white oak. Most forstner bits will clog up or heat up. This bit did not overheat. The shavings came out nicely, even at 1 1/2" deep. I am very impressed with the bit and would highly recommend it.

the first time i used the 2 1/2 i wouldnt even look like drilling a piece of wood dont make the same mistake i did try another brand

I used this in a drill press to recess some puck lights in a poplar headboard. It did the job but a sawtooth Forstner would have made a cleaner hole. This thing left more shavings than sawdust but I can’t return it now.

best used in a drill press with a good clamp/vice as this size is quite aggressive with that said it cuts smooth and flat i needed it for a specific project with a flat bottom and this works well

I used the bits to drill some larger holes in red oak. The bits drilled very accurate and were sharp. No tear outs. The only downfall if the items were the way they were packed. The bits came in a box, however it looked like they were just throwed in the box. I wish the packing was better
