I had to bore holes through a thick piece of wood in a drill press. It got the task done with great accuracy. I gave four stars, because the set screws marred my forstner bit.

Had to drill deeper than my forstner bits would allow and this was a great solution.

This is a good little extension but does seem to have a tiny bit of runout.

Needed an extension for a shaft and did not want to machine one. This extension shaft worked perfect with no problems.

Good quality. Fits perfectly and holds the forstner bit very well. I was afraid of slipping or warping but no. I drill in 3” 1/2 of oak without any problem. Worth the price

We have a local "has everything" family owned hardware store and they did not have an extension for 3/8" round shank. This was the perfect solution. It is built solid, and a good price.Home depot did not have this either. I am very please with this solution for only $11.

You can use this to extend the length of your forester bits to bore deeper holes. It’s solid and well built. The receptacle hole is a tight fit which keeps the bit properly centered. Good product. I recommend it. Thanks.

This is for the 5-piece set that goes from 3/4 to 1-3/8. It's a nice convenient small set that fills a gap in the market for those that don't need large or specialty sizes and may already have a few smaller bits in the tool chest, and the wooden box is classy and nice to have (and well made). To be honest I have used and never been terribly impressed with some Ivy Classic tools, but I don't think any of them are crap and some of them are pretty nice - I do think they attempt to fill the middle zone in terms of quality but at an often inflated price, considering. You can do much worse even from some larger mainstream well-known brand names. The bits themselves are not especially well finished, so you should probably expect to do some touch up sharpening prior to use or soon after putting them to use - out of the box mine were just ok, but with a half hour of diamond and ceramic touch up, they're very good and cut nicely. Any straight and not too thick stone will work for the center surfaces - the tip doesn't need to be that sharp. The outer edges are challenging to sharpen well so a small round grinding stone used carefully is the best approach. Luckily the outer edges an all of my bits, while not the sharpest, were decent enough and there weren't any big flat areas that require more grinding to correct, like you typically see now on many cheaper forstner bits. Photo shows first test holes in old pine and red oak after my touch up sharpening. The great part is that these are HSS, so it's worth the effort and the price is really fair on this set - I do wonder if it's just the cheapest M50 industrial steel, however, given the very low Rockwell hardness rating shown in the listing. These are not Freud or Fische quality but they are a far cry better than the junk I've seen lately from Irwin, Dewalt, Bosch, the old Porter Cable ones, and they are way nicer than any number of cheaper import "brands" out there. So while I may pass up and recommend other items than Ivy Classic for many items, I think this series of forstner bits from them is a great buy and a worthy tool to own.
