My home isn't that old, but the builder-installed smoke/CO detectors started failing. I am not talking about the lame single beeps (always in the middle of the night) that announce that it is time to change the backup battery. No, indeed...the old units made the triple-beep that said they needed replacing. Of course, they chose the middle of the night to fail and no less than three of them failed at once.This package of three is perfect for my needs. These are a direct, snap-in replacement for the originals -- I did not have to change around the plugs or the mount. It was plug in, mount to the ring, and twist to lock. Probably the easiest home DIY project I have had in a while.Pay the extra few dollars, get the direct replacements, save yourself the headaches.

Quick and easy install, as replacement for smoke and co alarm unit that was discontinued. Our home is 7 years old. Price is a bit tough to swallow, but less than home depot, lowes. Etc. I only replaced failed unit. Have 9 total.

Good product. Bracket from previous first alert did not fit so I had to complete replace the unit. Also, it seems that the new one was more sensitive to kitchen fumes than the older one even though it states that it can differentiate better between just regular stove smoke than actual fire smoke. Otherwise, it integrated in with the other alarms with no issues. You have to physically turn the alarm off instead of being able to fan away the fumes. Happy with the purchase.

Our older model of these were about 8 years old and didn’t have the replaceable battery so when they started beeping randomly here and there, we had no options but to change it up. It is nice how easy these are to replace for a hardwired option when the mounts are the same. This was the best place to buy them cost wise.

Smoke detector is a great choice for the price, it detects smoke and carbon monoxide. Very little maintenance required. Hardwired with a battery backup. Very happy with this product.
