This is supposed to be a coupler, not an adapter! Should be FireWire on both ends, but has USB on one end instead! I thought it was an error so sent it back and got the same thing again!!! NOT HAPPY!!!

This item is not what was promised / shown in the pictures. It is advertised as a 6 pin female to 6 pin female IEEE-1394a adapter, however the item I received has a USB-A connector on one side and a 6 pin IEEE-1394a connector on the other side (see pictures). I returned the item and the replacement I got was the same. Sending it back again.Even as a USB to Firewire adapter this doesn't seem to be working as I get an OS error message that the USB port has been disabled due to too much power being drawn when connecting a Firewire webcam.

Works fine. Solves a problem I had joining a firewire device and Thunderbolt to FW800 to FW400 adapters.

The coupler works perfectly. As simple as this device is, quality matters. I had previously purchased a coupler from another company via Amazon that did not work. Thanks for providing an excellent product.

Shopped around a bit & glad Is settled with this product. No issues with daisy chaining from Mac Monitor to Mac Laptop, for editing. Luckily these products exist on the market as other firmware becomes unfortunately obsolete.
