If you're in the market for a very compact light and easy to carry and deploy Fire Ladder then this is a very good option. This ladder 16.6 Foot Tall and is designed to be used in a 2 Story Emergency. The body of the ladder is made out of webbing which is very strong. The top of the ladder has 2 very large hooks which are easy to operate. The bottom has two smaller anchoring hooks which can help to pull the ladder tight. This also comes with two anchor bolts. Its important to plan your escape and get this all setup and tested ahead of time. Hopefully no one will ever have to actually use it. This also has a carrying handle and storage bag. I'm super happy with this Fire Ladder.

I’ve had access to various emergency ladders before. The all metal one was a pain to try to use, especially as a kid. This one is something that with training I imagine most 5-8 year olds and up could probably handle with a bit of a struggle as long as they can open the window and the wall bolts are in place. That’s great for kids being able to rescue themselves in an emergency (and maybe less great if they’re likely to sneak out and get in trouble).I could also see this serving as a sturdy and safe treehouse ladder for that matter. It’s got sturdy clips for if you need to lower a pet carrier or go bag, and when put in its carry bag can fit in the large compartment of most backpacks. (Might be snug)

Be sure to unpack and practice with this before you might need it! The hooks have a release lever that you need to press to open them, and everything is plastic strapped in the bag. With practice, older children can easily use this as well as older adults. This is a heavy duty ladder. The hooks are large enough to use with a variety of windowsills and balconies. There are attachment bolts also included for use in areas where the hooks are not practical or don't fit. Each of the rungs is spaced and sized similar to a regular ladder. There are also carabiners to attach items to lower down as well. This is a great item to have at home for a little extra peace of mind incase of emergency evacuation from the second floor.

I chose this fire escape ladder because it offers a way to hook up a kennel to help get pets down from the second floor. When I opened the package, the ladder was exactly as I expected. I did find the zip lock bag a little unusual for packaging the eyebolts, but besides that, this was exactly as described. I expected a ladder that is made out of the same strapping material as toe straps, moving straps, etc, and that's exactly what I got. I knew this wasn't going to be as sturdy and stable as a metal retractable fire escape ladder. It's made of a soft material, so I expected it to be a little wobbly and not as easy to climb as a solid ladder. This reminds me of the climbing ropes at the playground where I bring my neices and nephews. It seems some of the other reviewers were surprised that this isn't the most sturdy escape ladder. I'm not sure what they expected from a ladder made of a soft material. These types of straps are very durable, and the stitching pattern looks well done. The large metal clips have a nice opening, so you can clip this to larger items beside the eyebolts. Personally I have a desk by my window that is very stable and heavy. I will clip the ladder to the desk legs. I used the eye bolts for the base of the ladder. I installed the bolts in the ground outside of the window. Now, I can use the carbiner clips on the bottom to stretch and stabalize the ladder. After the first person goes down the ladder, they can clip the carbiner clips to the eyebolts, or if any of my neighbors come out, they can clip them. I really like design and the carbiner clips on the bottom. This allows me to lower down things like a kennel with pet, car seat with baby, my file organizer, or anything else of importance that I wouldn't want to lose in a fire. This is not the best option for elderly people. I like that this doesn't take up much room and is easily stored under my desk by the window. If you decide to use the eyebolts inside of your home to mount the ladder, I suggest getting another pair or something else for the base of the ladder to help stabilize it. If you have grass outside of the window, you can use ground anchors. If you have asphalt or concrete, I would use eyebolts with masonary anchors. If you have wood below the window, you can just use regular screw in eyebolts. Either way, having a bottom support really makes a huge difference. I am very happy with this portable escape ladder. If you want something that is easier to climb and more sturdy, don't order a ladder made of a soft material. Get an aluminum retractable ladder. When a product is exactly as described, I always give it 5 stars. This is exactly as described and pictured. I will try to update this review with a video the next time my nephew comes over so he can demonstrate how it works. He is only 7, but he is a pro on this ladder because he has something like this on his tree house, and he climbs the webbing at the playground often.

So, this fire ladder should serve its purpose if ever needed however it does seem to be kinda on the cheap side in regard to appearance and stitching. The stitching just seems kinda sloppy and uneven like there was no care in making it.Despite the stitching and appearance, the ladder does seem strong with good webbing, hooks and solid rungs. I like that it came in a bag for storage and a wrap around carrying handle attached to the ladder. I am not a big fan of the included eyelets which are meant to be mounted in your wall as something for the ladder to hook onto. They may work well if mounted into concrete but not some much for wood in my experience. I think for wood mounting they should have included screw in lags. I personally do not want large eyelet bolts in my walls anyway so I will instead use a thick rigid pipe wider than my window to hook the ladder onto if needed. Due to the unpredictable nature of fire, there is the possibility you may not even be able to use the ladder in the window with the eyelets installed, then what do you do. At least with a rigid pipe, I can use it in any window I can get to.

The 16.6-foot length is perfect for reaching the ground from our second-floor windows. The ladder itself seems very sturdy, made of robust materials that inspire confidence. The heavy-duty hooks are a good size and appear adaptable to different window frames. The anti-slip rungs are also a reassuring feature. While we haven't tested it in a real emergency (and hopefully never will), simply having it readily accessible gives us a sense of security, especially for our children's bedrooms. It's compact enough to store easily under the bed or in a closet. We plan to practice deploying the ladder to ensure everyone in the family knows how to use it in case of an emergency.
