It comes with everything that you need to test static pressure on an AC system. It also has the ability to check gas pressure (furnaces). This tool even has a built in pump that enables you to hook up to a pressure switch and test when it opens and also to calibrate it (if it's adjustable). I originally made the mistake of going with a different brand because I wanted to save a couple bucks. Granted, if you're willing to sacrifice additional options and features to put a couple more dollars in your pocket, more power to ya. For me, I shouldn't have wasted my time shopping around and just stick with Fieldpiece. They truly do make tools specifically for people in the HVAC/R trade. No other company can say that... And if you ever have an issue with your tool, their customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend this tool and many other Fieldpiece tools. I only speak on the ones that I own and have used...

Amazing tool - accurate and reliable. Integrating the pressure switch tester is a well thought of concept and very good engineering to integrate into this small form factor. Fieldpiece used to sell the pressure switch tester separately (I guess SDMN1) - which had been discontinued in favor of this product. Does the pressure switch tester justify an additional $100 price tag over its nearest rival ? Maybe not. Especially if you account the cost for a small 6v vaccum pump and some additional silicone tubing. But then that's what they get to charge for innovation, offering convinience and monopoly (Fieldpiece being the only one offering this). So can't complaint. How does this differ from other products ? Other branded and unbranded (Chinese) manometers use differential pressure sensors. Fieldpiece uses standalone pressure sensors on each of it's ports. This allows each port to be read standalone especially when you have both the probes inserted in the duct/plenum for reading static pressure. Other manometers only allow differential readings for this use case. Also stand alone sensors tend to be slightly more accurate. A drift in one does not affect the other. Repairing under warranty is also easy because they only have to replace the pressure sensor which is defective.Something important to note is that Fieldpiece only covers warranty if you buy it from one of their authorized resellers either directly or on Amazon. Fieldpiece refuses to honor warranty if it was sold and shipped by Amazon. They have a list of resellers on their website (who also sell on Amazon) - so be sure that you check before you buy because this is an expensive piece of equipment.

A must if you're a technician. Some people may need a meter that reads into the 1,000th's.(I built one that reads into the 10,000th's on the billybbob18 YouTube channel). I don't have video of it, but i tested The SDMN6 against my home built one and they were dead on to within a few 1000'ths at 1inWC. The pressure switch pump is impressive and can end up destroying your switch if you fail to use the bleeder adapter for switches without a bleed port (READ INSTRUCTIONS!, the metal ones usually don't have a bleeder built in).As far as build quality goes, the thing is solid in every way. Don't be dismayed by the fact that you need to zero it. Changes in barometric pressure will throw off the atmospheric reference. When entering a new pressure zone, just re-zero and continue working. Fieldpiece support is the best as well. No regrets. The pressure switch tester adds over 100 to the price of the SDMN5, so if you don't need that, get the 5.

Works great for calibrating pressure switches on large air handlers. I work in controls and I constantly have to set up pressure switches for hi and low static safeties as well as filter alarms. This meter made that process so much faster and accurate. I crimped some alligator clips to the test leads to make it easier to attach to different pressure switches with screw terminals. Much easier than counting turns and hoping you have the setpoint you want. It does burn through batteries, so make sure you have extras.

Works great as a manometer and the pressure switch tester is excellent too. I'm an HVAC technician and use mine almost every day. Robustly made, and the magnet on the back is excellent for hands free operation. If you buy one and test pressure switches, make use of the "hold" button, and be patient. The pump can sometimes take a minute or so to get set before pumping up, and several times when I first started using this I smashed the "up" button a bunch of times impatiently, and then the pump kicks in and all of a sudden you are passing 10" WC and wondering what happened. So when checking pressure switches, be patient, and make use of the "hold" button. Pressure switches don't fail super often, but with a tool like this in your bag you can quickly figure out if the pressure switch is your problem or if your issue is elsewhere. This also comes with a bag containing all the hoses and attachments for checking pressure switches, gas valves, and checking static pressure in ducting.

This worked great to help diagnose my Pressure Switch problem. Going through multiple diagnostics tests to gather what was wrong with my furnace... all signs pointed to the Pressure Switch. I purchased one of the other generic brands of manometers online and (with no lack of prior HVAC repair experience) i was very confused and the item didn't seem to come with the proper attachments. After viewing a couple youtube videos of people using this device to test a pressure switch, i was convinced that i should drop the cash and try it. It was very easy to use and lead me to uncover that the pressure switch in fact was the failure, with this device i was able to determine that my pressure switch diaphragm was ripped.Great purchase, highly recommend it!

Bought it for the tester feature. Works well. Pressures bounce around a lot when using it as a gas pressure manometer. Otherwise its a very nice piece of equipment. Good to have as a backup manometer.
