I use leather dye all the time to touch up shoes, purses, belts. This particular dye makes a mess and the navy blue takes on a very unusual purplish tint to it. I’ve ruined two pairs of nice leather shoes. Not recommended! It does not dry a true navy!

Bought the navy blue alcohol dye for a pair of brown leather shoes. As other people commented, the leather turned this weird purple metallic color. However, as recommended in other reviews, I smoothed in a leather lotion/finisher I already had to the shoes and they turned a deep navy blue. Very happy with color and ease of application. However, the bottle arrived with a hole in it. Luckily it didn't leak in the package. Apparently the leak was sealed as it dried against the inside of the box and didn't start to leak until I took the bottle out of the box. I transferred most of the contents to another container, so it wasn't total waste.

I decided to change the color of my stained vintage lambskin Chanel clutch, but couldn't bring myself to spend +$600 for a professional. Considering I've used the black dye successfully on previous Louis Vuitton and YSL bags, I decided to give the blue a chance. Worst-case scenario, if I messed up, I'd pay for a professional to fix my mistakes. SO GLAD I BELIEVED IN MYSELF FIRST! This product was amazing to work with! It took a few trial and errors to figure out how to remove the bronze and purple color that shows after a second coat and get to a true navy color, but it was worth it. The color looks great, the leather is still soft, the bag looks amazing, and I have no color transfer. I give it 10 Stars!

This is the first time I ever used a shoe dye as can be seen by my goof on the sole of my Birks but the product was easy to use in spite of my inexperience. The color was lighter than expected. But I like the bright blue. I chose Navy Blue. Very good product.
