Replaced a few springs in my old SRV strat. They fit perfectly and matched the old ones very well.

These are quality springs, but I can't say my expectations were high. I made a 3-D CAD model of this and posted it on GrabCad (Fender Tremolo Tension Spring).

Perfect fit for my stratocasters . I needed to replace the original springs due to wear and age because my bridge was pulled up , I added these springs and it is perfect again . Great value and work as advertised .

I recently install the Fender Standard Vintage bridge assembly on my Donnor DST-152R which resonates with improvement. The Donnor comes with 3 springs and they work fine it's just for me I don't use the whammy bar much and don't care for how the guitar goes out of tune when used. So I decided to install all 5 Fender springs to deck the bride assembly, which increases sustain and stabilizes the guitar from going out of tune. It works well for me and I still can use the whammy bar in the downward position.

I’ve always heard that tremolo springs never really wear out, but from a recent experience have found that’s just not the case.I performed the last string change on my American Stratocaster (which is about 15 years old) using the same light-gauge strings I always had, Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9’s. When I went to double-check the guitar’s set-up, to my horror I noticed that the rear of the bridge had lifted about a half inch off the body, when it was previously decked. This guitar’s hardware is totally stock, with no locking nut, tuners, or things of that nature. That said, I prefer to keep the bridge decked since it stays in tune much better, plus I only use the tremolo for dives anyway. In my opinion, out-of-the-box Stratocaster hardware isn’t very well suited for floating the bridge without encountering tuning issues. To accomplish that reliably, you may need to take out a second mortgage on your house to be able to afford complete Floyd Rose replacements. After some considerable tightening of the spring claw (3 stock springs were installed, all mounted vertically), I still couldn’t get the situation remedied, and dared not over-tighten it. So, I decided to give new springs a try.Returning the claw to its original position and installing 3 of these took care of the problem, which told me the old springs were indeed weakening. Then, out of curiosity I installed all 5. Of course, depressing the tremolo arm now requires more force, but I’m still able to get over a full step down on dives with minimal depressing. That’s more than enough for me.I really like the feel of the arm much better now, and left all 5 springs installed without any issues whatsoever. Even with totally stock hardware, since the bridge is once again well-decked, it rarely slips out of tune.Granted, this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s worked out very well for me and my playing style.Lesson learned: I now have no doubt that Stratocaster tremolo bridge springs do in fact weaken over time, especially if you use the tremolo a lot. Thinking about it, if they didn’t, why would they sell these in the first place?Replacing them is such a piece of cake, and obviously not an expensive thing to undertake if you run into a similar problem.
