Product Description

Product Description An integral part of the Delta Tone system on Fender American series electric guitars, this 250K "no-load" potentiometer functions as a normal tone control from 1 to 9. At 10, the tone control is removed from the circuit for increased output and overall tonal response. Fits most U.S.- and Mexico-made instruments requiring a 3/8" split-shaft potentiometer. Takes push-on control knob (no set screw). Mounting hardware and .022mf 250V capacitor included. It's a CTS potentiometer, I haven't found better

Does what it should. Smooth with enough resistance that it's tough to bump out of position.

If you want a no load tone pot, this works great! The main thing to keep in mind, is that this pot will sort of "lock" into place when it's turned all the way up. It can take some getting used to, and may not be everyone's preference. When I first installed it, turning it down from 10 felt stiffer and I worried it might get annoying to use, but with a bit of use it became much smoother. If you are a guitarist who just leaves your tone pot maxed constantly (couldn't be me) you will love this feature though, it makes it harder to accidentally turn it down.

This no-load pot urns the second tone knob into a blender. The differences are subtle, but nice. 1-9 adds the neck or bridge to the circuit, whereas 10 removes the blender completely. You will have to do some internal rewiring, but nothing too complicated.

This might be the best $9.99 I have ever spent. This no-load pot was installed in a custom built loaded pick guard for a Squier Stratocaster. Including the tone cap was very helpful as I had purchased the wrong value by mistake and instead used the one included here.By replacing the second tone control with this special potentiometer, and doing a little wiring, I can now blend my neck pickup in with the bridge position or even have all three pickups engaged when in the bridge+middle position. The beauty of using a pot rather than switch is that the amount of neck mixed in can be precisely controlled. That’s where the no-load feature comes in, by ensuring that when you turn the neck pickup all the way down(in applicable positions), the neck pickup is removed completely from the bridge pickup circuit. The diagrams for this are available from Fender, just look up “Blender Mod” or “Fat 50’s Half Blender.” I went with the half blender version, but the full blender may work better for you.The pot is high quality, being made by CTS in Taiwan. The low profile, brass shaft turns smoothly with minimal effort, yet has no wobble. With the included toothed washer you can ensure a strong mechanical and electrical connection.Once you hear the neck and bridge pickups together, you won’t want to play without it again.

I gave this five stars because it works as expected, but I may not use No Load Pots in the future. The control doesn’t turn as easily as a regular pot, it requires a little attention and strength to take it off of the no load position.I am going to use it on a Strat bridge pickup and you can definitely hear the difference when taken the load off. But, I may use a flip switch instead, or at least I will experiment with that on a future build. Nothing wrong with the product, just not my preference.

Made the right choice for my strat. Amp is dark so I like the option to get extra brightness. Overpriced for what it is. The components that come with it are fine. Easy to install.
