I'm not sure why it works but it does. It's a perfect fit for connecting two 4-inch pipes together. Doesn't matter if one, both or none of sides are crimped. Not sure why the big box stores don't sell this piece. I've looked at many stores and tried different connectors and nothing has worked like this Amazon product does.

Not really sure what I need to review with this other than to say it fits the 4" ducts. Just take note this is meant to be the female side so the ends you are joining needs to be slightly smaller then 4"

Replacing dryer duct piping between wall and dryer with 90 degree "close" elbow and 4 in. x 2 ft. Semi-Rigid Aluminum Dryer Vent Duct with Collars. Needed a female-female adapter. This item is not aluminum like the other components being used. Rather, stiff metal, galvanized steel. Will not squeeze to grab using standard hose clamps. Therefore, took some real effort and time to fit the other components into this female-female adapter on both sides. Once fit jury-rigged for each side, used foil duct tape from Harbor Freight to secure the connection on each side -- without using hose clamps. Nonetheless, 100% needed this part for my installation and it worked. (Have not found a similar female-female adapter. Install might have been easier if I found could have found aluminum less rigid female-female adapter.)

Inexpensive and good quality. Worked well for fitting a flue cap to my static caravan boiler outlet. A 100mm (4") pipe fits inside. The problem I had was that the outlet pipe on the roof of the caravan was exactly the same diameter are the flue cap supplied we're exactly the same diameter. This solved the issue. Just needed a couple of self-tappers to hole it in place

This is an actual 5 star review. My current wall dryer vent outlet was pliable and did not extend far enough out of the wall. I was able to firmly insert the new duct connector within my wall outlet to strengthen and extend it. My dryer hose now has a strong duct to connect to. The duct connector is well made and strong! Hope my review helps others.
