E-Z Threaded Inserts for Metal
Protect tapped holes from stripping and wear and quickly repair damaged threads in soft metal with the E-Z LOK thread inserts for metal. Solid threaded inserts that are strong, easy to install, and self-locking. For optimal holding power in metal. The 12L14 Carbon steel thread inserts install with standard tools. No special drills, taps, or special installation tools are needed. The inserts are designed for use with soft metals such as aluminum, cast iron, magnesium, etc. An ideal solution for repairing or reinforcing tapped holes in metal.
Simply drill the hole with a standard drill. Tap the hole with a standard tap. Turn in the insert with a screwdriver, bolt/jam nut, or an E-Z LOK drive tool. The pre-applied adhesive on the external threads activates during installation and securely locks the insert in place.

Used it to repair a stripped out hole for my brake caliper bolt and it worked perfectly. The pre-applied locktite is nice but I staked the edges in anyway and it's not moving. I only needed one but the 10 pack is cheap enough, cheaper than a time sert and stronger than a helicoil.

I used 38 of the E-Z LOK threaded inserts to make a small fixture plate for use on a bench-top sized CNC Milling machine. The steel inserts easily threaded into the Aluminum fixture plate (which had been Type III anodized). Adjusting the depth of each insert after initial placement is quite easy to do as the red locking matterial initially acts as a lubricant, but then begins to "harden" after about 5 to 10 minutes.
