Installed these 6 months ago to repair a stripped thread in a HDPE plastic part in a packaging machine that sees heavy vibration. Massive improvement over the plastic factory threads. The fasteners we use here are part of a changeover parts and the fastener gets removed and re-tightened about once per week. No signs of wear so far.

Not a fan. Drilled out hole in 1/8 aluminum backing plate under 5/16 inch fiberglass. Tap shattered 3/4 of the way through with small hand driver. May I please have my money back as now I really have a problem with this 1/4 20 bolt!

I bought this item to fix a lawn mower valve cover and it worked perfectly.My valve cover was leaking oil very slowly. I noticed that in the corner where the leak was occurring the bolt holding on the valve cover wasn't very tight but the bolt was just spinning. I was able to remove the bolt but basically all the threads came with it.This helicoil kit was just exactly what I needed. I was able to drill and tap the bolt hole, insert the actual helicoil, break off the tab and re-seat the bolt all with the included tools and the aid of a cordless drill. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that I couldn't figure out how to use the thread tap by hand. I ended up just using the cordless drill and going as slow as I could, but I'm sure there is probably a better way or some other tool that should have been used.

I used this product to repair threads in the aluminum block on a 200 hp outboard motor. I removed the supplied drill bit from the package/kit, and drilled the hole in the block. I then removed the supplied tap, and discovered that the hole was larger in diameter than the tap. The supplier shipped the kit with the incorrect tap drill size. This has created a problem for me now, and I can’t even use the kit for this application. Now I’ve got a larger hole than I originally had, and no way to repair it without spending more money. Be sure you check the compatibility of the components before you use them.
