About this item

  • Applicable: Highly effective in machining various types of wood and Aluminum, such as Wrought Aluminum Alloys (HB 30- 100), Cast Aluminum Alloys (HB 75 - 130), and Copper and copper alloys (bronze/brass) (HB 90 - 300). Hardwoods, softwoods, plastic, PVC and Acrylic.
  • Smooth Cutting: QUARK coating has a Hardness HV4000, Surface finish < Ra 0.03μm and Friction coefficient < 0.1, These results in Heat Resistance and enables smooth and clean cutting without any tearing or burr during the cutting process.
  • UP and Down Cut: The SHARPRO compression blade's up cut blade has a smaller angle for sharper cuts and quick entry. It‘s down cut blade has a larger angle for stability, enabling steadier work and faster chip removal while avoiding debris accumulation.
  • Precision: Compression high-speed CNC router bits, the dimensional error of the cutting tool is controlled within -0.02 mm. Fit for Plunging and prevents fraying and splintering.
  • Brand: High quality is ensured by SHARPRO. Our factory is equipped with automation machines from top global brands. The unique serial code assigned at the unit level allows for quality tracking throughout the entire production process.

This is a Sharpro bit. . I've used several different sizes and types of their bits and all have worked very well. They stand up to my uses and abuses and their quality is very consistent from one bit to another. Sharpro bits have always been good performers every time. They are just made that well. I've come to know that these/this bit will perform and not let me down. I always reach for these when I need a good clean cut. They are a good value and at a price point that won't break the bank. I have not had one disappoint me ever. This is definitely a winner

This 1/4" shank and cutting diameter compression CNC router bit makes nice cuts in trouble materials like plywood that often have a lot of splinters around the cuts. The bit flukes start with down-cut spire for about 1/4” then blend into an up-cut spiral. The result is a cleaner edge at both the top and bottom of the cut, if the cut is deeper than the spiral transition. The machining of the bit is well done, and the cutting edges are sharp. The bit has a QUARK coating (a proprietary blend?) which is supposed to reduce friction in use, I was not able to determine the coating’s makeup or properties. The bit also comes with a plastic cap over the end of the cutter, and the bit has a plastic box for storage. Both the box and the shank of the bit are labeled with the bit’s specifications, which aids reordering.I have used Sharpro routers bits in the past and they have always done a good job with wood and plastics. I personally do not like to use compression bits in aluminum.

I have been making a lot of shop furniture and mobile carts lately and they all have drawers. So, I needed this bit to make finger joints for drawers. I have a Porter Cable dovetail jig and it has a router template guide for 1/4" finger joints. I am using mostly 1/2" plywood and my standard two blade/fluted bits were leaving a lot of tear out in the plywood. I switched to this bit and problem solved. Now there is very minimal tear out and the bit seems to glide much smoother between the teeth of the template guide. The bottom of the cut is also much cleaner, and the joints seem to go together much tighter. I almost do not need to use glue. The only problem is that using the bit this way the guide bushing partially covers the bit so you are not utilizing the full potential of a compression bit. Now if they could make a compression dovetail bit, I could make dovetail drawers next..LOLThis is a very nice bit, and I will definitely order from this company when I need a new one. I can easily recommend this product.

This router bit is top-notch! It cuts through wood smoothly and efficiently, leaving clean edges with no splintering. The solid carbide construction makes it super durable, and it’s perfect for engraving, slot mortise, and general woodworking. A great addition to my workshop!

My primary use for this bit is for cutting product packaging foam. I didn't think cutting foam would be much of a challenge, but it actually takes time to find a method that will cleanly cut the foam instead of tearing at it. I've used different kinds of bits, including up cut, down cut and different flute counts, but this compression bit does the best job out of everything I've tried. The edges are coming out clean and the bottom of the pockets are flat and smooth. It also doesn't throw around as much shredded foam as it cuts. so it's easier to clean up after.

***FULL DISCLOSURE: Item was received for free through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review.***This compression bit has so far been a treat to work with. It made short work of both the heavy plywood and the melamine I used it on with no complaints about quality. If I had one gripe, it would be that it's a tad short for my preference, but nonetheless, it works fine if you go in small depth steps.

I was able to get good quality 12mm wide by 9mm deep dado cuts in 18mm Baltic birch ply by:1 pass down the middle of the dado at ~5mm deep2nd pass down the middle at ~8.75mm deep3rd pass left side of dado at 9mm depth4th pass right side of dado at 9mm depth to finishDoing so left me with nice clean edges and bottoms of cuts. Before I was using upcut bits which left fuzz and tearout along the top edges of the dado cuts. This bit solves that. However, you have to get deep enough to get into the downcut portion of the bit to do so (so no 6mm dadoes, those would just be in the upcut portion of the bit and have the same problems as an upcut).5 stars as it's pretty clear where that transition is.
